Pls Help! ETC Dimmer Rack going out!

You have two different dimmer racks. You have a Sensor SR48 and a Unison dimmer rack. There is probably one universe of DMX that is an input into the Unison processor that then combines that input with output from the Unison system as control to the dimmers in the Unison rack and as a DMX...

    Grid Iron Emergency Medical Plans

I believe that this type of rescue would be considered a "high angle rescue". It does require special training and equipment. Contact your closest fire station about a site visit. John

    ETC ion xe issue

Dimmer or a moving light. I have seen some fixtures with a combined Intensity/Shutter channel that do weird things at the top end of the dimmer curve. BTW, I second calling ETC. JP

    Rigging / Fire Safety inspection

Back in October, I hadn't seen an Atrium lift. I looked at the postings and thought, "That's cool!" This week we needed a lift to get up 46"ish over a completely inaccessible area of the house to replace a sprinkler head. I looked at the situation and said, "What we need is an Atrium lift." We...

Control/Dimming ETC Sensor & Unison control issues

Hi Stephen, Yes, a call to ETC Tech Support is a good place to start. Heat build up in the racks will cause a number of issues. The first thing is going to be getting the fan fixed. If you are in Dana Point, I can recommend some authorized service providers in Southern California. Message me...

Control/Dimming Deep questions regarding network switches

It could be because of the backplane rating for maximum data handling. A 48 port 10/100/1000 switch can not usually handle 48000bps. Just a guess. Also, I believe unmanaged switches in a sACN system are handling more data throughput than managed switches using IGMP. John

    Control/Dimming Lighting Network Changes

There are many possibilities as to where the problems might lie. Is it only the Hogs that have problems connecting? There are both FixtureNet and HogNet ports on a Hog. They are different NICs and will have different IP addresses. Are you using Artnet or ETCNet3(sACN)? Is your network using...

    Linear LED and Rf noise

I spoke with our Audio Engineer. He had the same comment about video walls. It was nice to know that he hates them as much as I do, albeit for different reasons. Thank you for the info. I am gathering info to present to the powers that be. Implementation is still a long way off. Take care, John

    Linear LED and Rf noise

Has anyone been doing large installation of linear LED replacements for fluorescent tubes and run into any difficulties with Rf interference? California became the 2nd state to prohibit the sale of CFLs (Jan. 1, 2024) and all linear fluorescents (Jan. 1, 2025). Our venue had low Rf fluorescent...

Chauvet Pro Rogue R2x Wash Home Position

No problem! FYI, I love my R2X washes. What I did for the omega bracket and mega claw clamps that I had was put a lock washer between the bolt head and the omega bracket. I was able to get them tight enough to hold and line up US/DS. The lock washer gave enough play to make that work. Take...

Chauvet Pro Rogue R2x Wash Home Position

This is the way the R2X homes (Pan @50) with the head 90° to the screen. The clamps need to be in line with the long axis of the base. I chose to hang mine with the screens facing SR and data/power connections SL. JP

    LED RGBW PAR 64 Drop-in

Here are some images from my test as a backlight. Truss trim height was 26'-6". Narrow PARs with R26, R80, and L090. Rough appoximation of color in the Luxium Primo. The Primo is a larger beam. The flare that I was concerned about did not prove to be a problem. I had the fixture on with a PAR...

    Chamsys MQ70 vs Onyx NK4

Have you looked at the ETC Nomad and a Gadget. You could add a fader wing (used?) and an Xkeys for a pretty low budget. Neither the Chamsys or Onyx are particularly theatrical. Yes, they can do theatrical productions, but they are very different from an Express in programming style. That...

    Number of lights over Microplex

Off topic for lighting control. And...I am sorry to be a voice of doom and gloom. Is that a single wire rope clip on the pick-up line? I am very worried about the rigging and would recommend an inspection by a qualified person as soon as possible. If there is only one wire rope clip installed...
