    DMX Lighting Software and Hardware

The linked Enttec interface in a post above was Open DMX USB which is what I was referring to. Sorry for the confusion! The Enttec DMX USB Pro does not have timing issues. An earlier post said Enttec was cheapest on the market so probably good to completely clarify. Enttec Open DMX USB - No on...

    DMX Lighting Software and Hardware

I think you'll find Enttec had the lowest cost interface however now DMXking has the lowest cost USB DMX interface except ours actually has a microcontroller on board so it doesn't have all the timing issues.

Control/Dimming Android app and dmx interface

eDMX1 - works nicely with Luminair and other apps plus we've added sACN support in firmware v2.4 One key difference between ODE and eDMX1 is the later allows LTP merging which is what you'll need for moving lights fed from 2 sources. If you still want a computer in the mix have a look at...

    DMX Lighting Software and Hardware

You can use MagicQ with 1 compatible USB DMX device (either enttec usb pro or dmxking ultraDMX) or up to 16 ArtNet universes for free. Also have a look at Martin M-PC which has 1 universe free and works with enttec usb pro, dmxking ultraDMX or ArtNet. In all cases personally I'd recommend using...

    36w Floods RGB's - DMX routines

There's a few free software packages you should take a look at. Patch the floods and make a few cues then you'll be flashing away. Free Stuff!

    Merge/ Switch Art-net

One thing to be aware of with the ODE is it can only merge HTP.

    Control/Dimming RDM over Art-Net

Queue the crickets! Okay so who's using RDM directly from a console?

    Strange DMX issue -

Not a problem John, perhaps we may catch up again this year at LDI.

    Merge/ Switch Art-net

DMX controlled DMX switching :) Sounds interesting. Would HTP or LTP merging not do what you require or are both sources "busy"? I'd be happy to take a closer look at this and implement in our eDMX range.

    Control/Dimming RDM over Art-Net

How many of you are using RDM over Art-Net? We recently added this into our eDMX firmware but don't really have a good handle on how wide spread it's usage is. Aside from Artistic Licence's DMX Workshop what test tools are kicking around? At the moment it's the only standardized way I'm aware...

Control/Dimming Y cable to split DMX

Actually the ultraDMX Split is the most cost effective and is somewhat tougher than the enttec d-split plus it has the higher level DMX line protection on all inputs and outputs. ultraDMX Split

    Strange DMX issue -

Funny thing is we've just released a firmware update that would fix this one for you. Don't know which ultraDMX variant you've got but here's a link to one of them ultraDMX RDM Pro click on the Downloads tab. There is the odd piece of DMX gear out there with receive timing issues and what we did...

Control/Dimming How to connect a preset lightboard to your Android device

Just for reference eDMX1 does both HTP and LTP. The Enttec ODE only implements HTP.

    Control/Dimming RGB strips and Freestyler

I'm not aware of a purely RGB 3ch fixture so you'll probably need to use the Fixture Creator and make one. You could cheat by just using 1ch R,G & B par can fixtures for testing. Also there's an official support forum for FreeStyler here Support Forum • Index page and perhaps someone has...

What kind of console should I purchase

You can do some pretty cool stuff with VenueMagic - DMX Lighting Software without too much expense and you can scale the DMX output hardware to suit where you're at in the project. From what you describe you're probably not exceeding 1 universe and I'd recommend using an Art-Net or sACN...
