Strand had a similar looking scroller on the market back in the mid eighties, ran off its own small controller, (pre DMX and not AMX for some reason).

I'm pretty certain that spray paint is designed to repaint/touch up the interior finish on a metal housed softlight. I doubt it would work well on fabric. I'm not sure if Mole ever made a fabric folding softlight such as you describe.............

I would make sure that whatever iris I used had a chain drive rather than belts. I can easily predict outdoor conditions playing hell with belt drives.

I've been running two of these "faux followspots" in my FOH for nearly ten years now. I went with the CTI product because it was, at the time, the only game in town; no regrets however- not a lick of trouble in all this time.

Yes, they changed it in 2.2 and even the 2.2 manual update is wrong on this. As Lafalot says, shift/both sub buttons will clear the whole fader.

For the record,from '92>'05 at a major east coast venue(think 90' battens) I built +/- 50 sticks of cable and +/- 35 fanouts with the pre tinning system,introduced to me by my then boss. To the best of my knowledge, that whole pile of stuff has not suffered 0ne electrical failure. As I say this...

Not those specifically, but in general , you'll need a chip pulling tool (kinda like a staple remover, visit Radio Shack). And you'll want access to a vise big enough to take the RFU itself.........
