Elation Design Spot 575e capacitor replacement

Today I was taking some time with students to open up our two Design Spot 575e, for cleaning and because on of them is blinking. One of the instruments has some serious capacitor issues. I have never replaced capacitors myself, but it seems like a common repair, and is certainly less expensive...

Back-printing ticket stock for DYMO printer

IMO, unless you are selling thousands of tickets, a Boca is unnecessary.Have you downloaded the Dymo printer software? You can design WYSIWYG in that, automatically include counts, import data, like patron names, from an excel sheet. If you aren't using a ticketing company for selling and...

Back-printing ticket stock for DYMO printer

My tickets are perforated - both per ticket and a tear-off section for accounting purposes. There is a black line on the back of the tickets that the printer recognizes. The only trick is to feed the tickets in the right way. I regularly batch print 150 tickets at a time without any issues...

Opinions on Cheap LED Lights, Please.

I've used these on my theatre stage for three years, at least, with no failures. I use S4 Pars for acting area top/back, and these for color-washes. The UV is a bonus, and I use it regularly to boost colors in addition to blacklight specific moments. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=612745

Practical physics question: casters and wagons and weight.

Yep, I was reinforcing what he said with my comment about the dangers of using steel casters on anything but a very smooth, clean, hard surface.

Practical physics question: casters and wagons and weight.

Ah, but steel casters on a not-flat floor - IMPOSSIBLE! I didn't know that until recently. I thought they would work great on my concrete floors, but they aren't perfectly flat and always have something granular on them. Impossible to move a wagon of stock platforms. I recastered with 8"...

    Window screen as painted scrim?

These images are vinyl window screening. The opaque trees are kraft paper. We laid down the paper, drew the trees, then laid the screening on top of it. Painting through the screen adheres the craft paper like glue, and when dry is easy to tear away the negative. That said, window screening...

    Which Trap for New Sinks?

Thanks, Bill. I was hoping you'd see this. "Clay Trap" returns many hits.

    Which Trap for New Sinks?

I'm getting two new paint sinks in my shop. The previous install did not have any sort of paint trap. I Googled and searched the forums, but didn't find any specific suggestions for models. Also, the rest of the world doesn't call it a paint trap, right? It's not grease that we're getting...

Back-printing ticket stock for DYMO printer

Sorry for the delay in responding - I went with plain stock paper, no back printing, and it was almost half the cost of the printed stock. The ticket size is the same they use for the Arts People stock, exact same paper, just fanfolded instead of rolled. I guess it comes out to about 6 cents a...

Back-printing ticket stock for DYMO printer

Kyle - sorry for the delay in responding. I worked with Michelle Caio, [email protected], for these tickets. She told me that the paper for the fanfold and the roll are the same paper stock, just delivered differently. She sent me some sample flat left over from another job, and it...

Back-printing ticket stock for DYMO printer

That's great. I've been very happy with Arts People for the last three...four?...years.

Back-printing ticket stock for DYMO printer

Thanks Patrick. I bought plain white from them. But I want you to know, and maybe Arts People can share this with other folks using the Dymo, that you don't have to use the roll stock. After some experimentation, I am now using 4x1.9875 FLAT FOLD stock, with a 1" tear-off perforation. I just...

Back-printing ticket stock for DYMO printer

For our tickets, we use Arts People and a DYMO 450 thermal printer. I want to sell the space on the back of the ticket to advertisers. I can do this through World Wide Ticket Craft, but $1000 for 9000 tickets is almost four times what I'm paying now. Anyone know of another company that can...
