    Marking Personal Cable

Self-Laminating cable labels are what I typically use. They hold up to a fair amount of abuse, and they look professional.

    New Switcher for Film Festivals

The Eikos2 from Analog Way might be another one to look at - has a quazi-multiviewer, audio mixing/switching, and all the I/O you could ever want. Plus all of the features of the PDS line.

    New Switcher for Film Festivals

What do you need I/O wise? Format/resolution? Do you require the audio functionality that your current switcher has?For a good multi-purpose switcher, I like the Barco PDS line of switchers. It'll take just about any input and any output, and is HDCP-compliant. Plus - you can disable HDCP on...

    Industry-related certifications (ETCP, CTS, etc...)

Its required that you have your CTS, and at least 2 years of experience. The main reason why I'm getting the CTS/CTS-D is that we have a fair amount of bids that require CTS techs, and we don't have very many at our company. I agree that its kind of a certification that just proves you can take...

    Quiet operations moving lights

What kind of fixtures? Spot or wash? Is it the movement of the lights that is too loud, or the internal fans?

Low Cost, VGA Splitters and VGA over CAT5 Baluns

That is the one thing I don't like about them, but you get what you pay for I suppose. I haven't had a situation where it was needed, but I always use STP when putting in extenders. If you feel like you'll need adjustments like that, there are tons of Extron MTP systems for sale on eBay. The...

Low Cost, VGA Splitters and VGA over CAT5 Baluns

Not only that, but its a LOCKING CONNECTOR!!!!!! Imagine that haha. DisplayPort is superior in just about every regard: Higher resolutions, multiple audio/video streams, etc... Only problem is that its a classic case of Betamax vs VHS. All of the manufacturers and content producers backed HDMI...

Telex Soundmate HA repurposed as IEM.

We use an older Soundmate system at my church to feed a powered speaker in the nursery. Easier than running cables and buying amps, plus no one has complained yet about the sound quality.

    Industry-related certifications (ETCP, CTS, etc...)

Hey everyone - I was offered by my company to take a few certification courses as a thank you for a job well done. I'm already in the process of getting my CTS and CTS-D, but I'm looking at a couple others, and would value your input.I work for a A/V install company, where we typically do...

Wireless Lemo (female?) to Male locking 1/8"

If you can find exact model info on those mics, you might be able to find someone on here to put new ends on for you. USPS Flat-Rate boxes are your best friend :) If I wasn't so bogged down at my actual job, I would offer my services.

    ClearCom Wireless to wired setup

You can plug it into anywhere on the party line. Make sure you have the front 2 wire/4 wire assignment set up for whatever system you are using (sounds like 2 wire), and the intercom system switch on the back should be set to clear-com.

    Digital Snake

You're absolutely right, sorry about that. We typically don't Install Allen and heath, so I'm a bit rusty on their feature set. At least I was half right with the x32 lol.

    Digital Snake

The problem with that idea is that they have an Aviom system already for their ears, and I don't believe any of those consoles have a-net expansion.

    Digital Snake

@Chris15 You're right, the D-show's stage rack uses dual coax, can't find the protocol though. And absolutely right with the conduit, if I'm putting a job together, I leave at least an extra 2" at any mixing position or control room to facilitate future cabling (or for when the sparky puts in...
