sorry about the slow reply I've been working on a show all week, the performance can be anything really its more of a practical demonstration of the topic you talk about so if it was for immersive themed environments I would have to actually create an environment and showcase it to an assessor.

You could always use a micro controller such as an arduino and use its outputs to interface led's and different push button inputs, this would also allow you to add midi control and cue from some form of show control software if needed

If a manual means is the best way to do it then that will be the way to go I just presumed a motor would be more reliable and consistent throughout the nights but I understand what you are saying about the noise, Thanks

That could work although we were hoping to have it ran automatically from our show control software hence the motor

We're using a datapath system which takes a HDMI input and we would like to overlay graphics etc so cant just go straight from camera into source unfortnately
