You'll always end up with delay if your source is analog and your destination is digital. I've used SDI all the way thru the chain before and it's rock solid. So get a decent camera that can output SDI, and use the coax line to an SDI monitor, or a monitor with a DVI input and a mini SDI-DVI box.

After thorough testing I can recommend Resolume Arena 4 for edge-blending and multiscreen, or Isadora would work great. Decent iMac and life is good.

I vote for the cooler. A sawzall, a decent muffin fan (maybe from a rack somewhere), a 12v power supply, a small thermostat, some silicone, you're good to go. It sounds like a 2 hour project for under $50.

You'd be surprised at what you can accomplish with not that much. A media server is not entirely necessary....this mapping in particular looks like a lot recently, where it's basically a big surface to project on to. As far as the 'mapping' part, a lot is done in the content already...but...

Looks like they have 4000 hrs total on them. Not sure how many lamps that is, but it's a fair amount of miles no? We have a vendor here who services DPI so I'm gonna do a little more research. thanks for the heads up.

resolution, codec, RAM, vram, disc access timed are all going to affect your bottom line on this one. A Macpro with 2 smallish ssd's 20 or so gb. RAM and four decent video cards would suffice. your output to the tv's will be low rez and I suspect you'll get away with less-than-HD for the...
