I am curious, where these cannons air powered wit dmx solenoids? Home built, or store purchased? I was looking at the possiblity of doing something like that for a previous show...lack of money prevented it.

that is what i was worried about. we dont have the cable to make the dimmer three phase. we are looking to purchase it but have not done so yet. in the mean time we do a show once a week and need the rack (ideally we need double that). so until the cable gets ordered and everything else...

i wouldn't use safety pins, i would use black zip ties as they are slightly stronger. another option, but more time consuming is to go to a fabric store and buy some heavier strength thread and kinda sew it back up untill it can be taken down and possibly repaired properly.

if it is new construction or you can isolate the panels you are converned with they can install a whole panel surge supression system (my rec center just had several installed becuase of lightening and surges blowing alot of equipment out) I would look into something like that if you are having...

i had them at my one theatre, we had 5 of them one on the cat, one sl/sr and one on the box booms sl/sr. they were the best thing i could have asked for since our dimmers sld96 racks had the nodes, we could move our board anywhere using the wireless (wifi bridging) we had for the ipaq remote...

just a guess based on other things i've read here is that they were done in series so as to add the voltage up (i hope im remebering this right) and then they had several on a batton and a single drop on the end to a power source... ship care to lend a hand....
