Assuming the director REALLY wants this gag, I agree that the ONLY way remotely viable is a low-voltage, shatter-proof lamp, properly fused (before and after the transformer). Numerous ways to make it go out at the appropriate time, but I would apply the KISS principle (as I always do anyway)...
