Tape ->Main mix button, right by the Main Mix Fader (Upper Left) suppost to be kept in theup position so i suggest fidding around untill you get ballanced audio, throw a strip of staples on it a gafe it down untill you have time for it to be fixed.

Have the exact same board. This is a pretty big problem across the series. It is attributed to a cold soder failure with the swich. I reccomend to take it to you preffered audio eqipment repair specialist and get them to soder it down again. Or do like me, fiddle so it works and tape a strip...

Have one, not impressed, and yes INSERT Send and does not play well with logic on the mac. have to crank the preamps up to get the sound. was not impressed at all with the firewire threwput on it. but as a standard mixer, it is awsome.

My tried and trusted batter is Duracell Procell. You can only get them in 12 packs. kinda expenisive but def worth it.

Make sure you are getting decent levels out of the mackie mixer. I reasently had a problem that the right chanel was not responding. I linked it the the "Tape to mains" Button it has a bad cold soder on it.

I Use 4 ULX Beta 58 Shure's as the workhorse mics. They have never failed yet (execpt for replacing batteries :)) But they are used as the primary HH mic in my theatre, primarially for convience and they sound great too.

I use a little brother thermal label printer and put the name of the person/ or character on the actual pack. also i have charts. Second, Make sure you get time from the director to mic actors, usually first dress, also train you actors in mic handleing, it puts more years on the wear and tear...

My biggest screwup was droping a gel frame onto a brandnew (less than 1 year old) Baby grand Yahama piano. Man i put a nice 1cmx1cm dent down to the wood in it. Man that was a depressing day.
