I am also a high TD, and we have our student stage managers take rehearsal and performance reports, full of notes. They are emailed to all of the directors, cast and crew, we also post a copy of the call board, as well as in the stage managers binder. This helps a lot.I also take...

I will also be there, and very excited to attend. This will be my first time USITT, and I very happy that it is here in Wisconsin. I have wanted to go for years, but was always unable to get off work, this year I was able to keep that week free. Better yet I live about 25 Min south so that...

Prompt Book Blocking Diagrams, Left or Right Page?

I learned this trick about 10 years a go, and I love it. I think it is easier to keep my eyes on script while writing. This is also how I am now teaching my high school students this way, and they like it as well. If someone out there has not tried I would suggest doing so.

So who dose fire drills during rehearsals? I have never done any, but can see the need to go over it at least once so the cast and crew have an idea what they should do. Things such as bringing up house and work lights if they don't come on by themselves. Turning off Audio and music so there is...

    Spending personal money on shows

I agree, buy nothing. I bring my own tools but they stay with me and I take them home with me everyday. I agree that you should have all the tools that you need to do your job, it's part of being a professional. I have at times use some spike tape or gafe tape, of my own. But I keep a...

Plays, or Musicals, or other shows?

I have worked on them all, and I have to say that I like a good drama play the best. It can be so much fun to tell a story with my lights. Over all anyshow can be fun, it's what you put into it, and the people you work with. I work a very busy venue that has 4 childrens shows, 4...
