    ETC Colorsource V Spot

This is not possible - the wireless receiver only affects the receiving fixture. If you wanted a wireless receiver with DMX output to other fixtures, you would need a SHoW Baby or the ColorSource Relay Multiverse, which would also be able to switch power.Hope that helps! Luke

Vintage Lighting They want an upgrade not more old gear

ColorSource Spot V is 197W max. Maybe you are thinking of Source Four LED Series 3 with the Daylight HDR engine at 340W? That fixture is a fair amount brighter than a Source Four 575LL tungsten fixture, at least in terms of field lumens.

    Colorsource PAR Question

Yep - check to see if this fixture is playing a Preset "in the background". DMX takes over from a Preset. It could just be that the [Mode] button was bumped.Luke

Control/Dimming Paradigm no House Light control via Ion XE + Ramble about crappy install

All sound advice above! Keep in min that Ion Xe counts its capacity in used parameters, not universes. So - it doesn't really matter if the ~3 universes worth of addresses are spread across 11 sACN universes. It can be an advantage, as you can quickly know what free addresses you have in a given...

Colorsource Spot Jr. at ~20ft throw?

Shameless promotion for the ETC Photometrics app, which would allow you to compare ColorSource Spot jr against another ETC lights - including in gel colors.Luke Market Manager, ETC

    ETC ColorSource V

You can definitely talk to your local/favorite dealer about Spot V and Fresnel V - prices are available and there are some online shops already posted. Spot VXT won't be available until next year.Luke

    ETC ColorSource Console

Opto-splitters will often be detected in this way, if they are configurable. There is no actual DMX address to link it to, but it is a device on the chain. It is worth noting that you should indeed "see" RDM devices via a Response Mk2 Gateway, but you will not via a Pathway or other, due to how...

    ETC ColorSource Console

That's correct - you need an Ethernet gateway. In theory, no switch is required but it is generally good practice to have one. It doesn't have to be anything fancy.ColorSource AV outputs standard E1.31 / sACN so any Gateway that can translate that (really anything modern) should work. You'll...

Control/Dimming LED frequency: does it affect lifespan?

As a general rule, dimming performance will be better at lower frequencies. 25Khz is "flicker-free", but the low-end dimming will suffer a bit.I've never heard of any longevity implications.Luke

Can an ETC Color Source CYC adapter be used on an ETC Lustr 2

You absolutely can. You will have to do some tweaking if you want to match the color of the Lustr fixtures to the ColorSource, but it will work.Luke

Need Help: House Lighting not Dimmable

Seconded/thirded - if the LED bulbs themselves aren't designed to be dimmed, even the best LED dimmer won't have much luck. It might even kill them. If you have any specs/model of the bulbs, post it here and that will help.

    ETC S4WRD Color?

Hi Nate - wondering if the homogenizing filter was installed on the reflector? It is in the retrofit kit, but this is an easy step to miss. This video shows it at the end.Luke

    ETC NET3 ACN Gateway

You should be fine using a Net3 Gateway - or the latest generation of Response Mk2 DMX Gateways. The GrandMA2 supports E1.31 (sACN), though, so you might be able to just plug it in, enable that protocol, and use it on the network directly. As stated above, you might have to be mindful of...

Thoughts on a Fixture Shoot Out

I wrote an article a few years ago that might be of some use. There is a little checklist at the end that helps summarize. Indeed - the most important thing is seeing them on whatever they are meant to light. Cycs are different than people!Luke
