Fair enough. I realise that the colour temps are different. What I wanted to know, which I found out from a lamp supply company, was that a MSD 250 lamp is approximately equal to a 1kW parcan. Even though the colour temp of the discharge lamp is higher, so it's whiter and hence appears brighter...

Ship, what wattage tungsten lamp is approximately equivilent to a Phillips MSD250/2 discharge lamp? Do you think a mover (a Mac250, say) is equal to a 1K lamp? a 2K lamp? I know optics are important too, but just wondering. Thanks David

If you use a yellow highlighter, and view under a blue light, then the yellow 'pops out' at you, very useful (if used SPARINGLY) to indicate where a Q is. I understand that pink does an equally good job.

Not Flashpots! Umm, if you're saying you'd like to control pyrotechnics off the lighting board... this isn't a good idea. On DMX, there is no error checking or anything, so there's no way to tell if the pyro has been fired, and no way to prevent the pyro from being fired. Not that I've used...

Huh? Didn't you say you had a camera hooked up? Many cameras, when turned on, go into 'camera' mode not vcr mode, and the audio picked up via the internal mike goes out thru the audio outputs. Yeh. ?? Was this happening? Regards David
