I don't have a spare lamp, but I guess I can pull one from a working fixture. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll meter the power supply and see if its sending the right voltage. It's on the bench right now, so I know that its getting enough voltage and current to the Mains.

That's true, but in so many other industries, its very easy. I can get an exploded diagram of my weed whacker or my drill or my truck pretty easily. Not sure why the lighting industry is so protective of them, knowing how many of their customers intend on doing their own repairs.
