Control/Dimming Can you temporarily lock Eos console keys?

I’m setting up guidelines for returning to operations during this fall (despite COVID numbers). With the training of operators and limited budget for disposable nitrile gloves, I’d like to know if there’s a way to temporarily lock the console keys of ETC Ion and Element consoles so we can wipe...

    QLab Gloom effect issue

Correction: it’s got 4 GHz RAM. After trying these options, among others, deleting the cue and rewriting it fixed the problem. Still stutters with a radius above 35, but got it close enough to look good. Probably a glitch. Thanks all.

    QLab Gloom effect issue

Yes, there are multiple file types (mp3s, pngs, mp4s) but even when running only that cue it happens. Yeah, I could build it in After Effects, but I’d prefer to have the ability to tweak the timing on the fly.

    QLab Gloom effect issue

Mac Pro 2018, 2GHz RAM, about 100 GB open storage space, only running QLab when in show mode. Even when it’s the only file and effect running, it stutters in time with the effect. The greater the radius, the greater the stutter. The png itself is a long vertical file and the lungs are at the...

    QLab Gloom effect issue

Hey, folks, I wonder if any of you have an idea on resolving a particular QLab 4 issue I’m having. The look I’m going for is to make the lungs png I have inhale and exhale in a continuous loop. I’ve built the loop group (say that five times fast). The closest video effect I could find in QLab...

    Laying a Marley dance floor

No! Do not clean your floor with ammonia, alcohol, and acetone (the 3 A’s) Why: Every Marley type floor is made with a plasticizer that allows flexibility, so the floor can roll up, otherwise the floor would be ridged and subject to cracking. Ammonia and alcohol releases the plasticizer...

What would you charge for a 1994 ETC Impression console?

Seriously? We bought it for $12,000 originally. And it still works just as well as the day we bought it. Granted, it may not be worth a lot, but I thought at least a couple grand.

What would you charge for a 1994 ETC Impression console?

I've got a new Ion for my department, so our 20-year-old Impression is unnecessary. However, another department on campus wants to buy it from us. I want to give them a fair price (50% of market value), but would like to know, what do you think would be a fair market price for this console. It...

Altman SpectraCycs going batty. Any ideas?

I think I've figured it out. I read and re-read the manual again and again. Finally, I found in teeny-tiny-fine print at the bottom of the last page next to a diagram about spacing the words "requires termination at end of the chain." I've only had the chance to test it during one performance...

Altman SpectraCycs going batty. Any ideas?

I plugged them into convenience outlets instead, changed out all questionable data cables, and even split the data run into two separate chains of 7; and yet, the problem still occurs. I'm out of ideas. Please help.

Altman SpectraCycs going batty. Any ideas?

They are on ETC Sensor dimmers set to switched by the rack and as NonDimOnAt0 in the Ion. I thought the same, but I've never had that problem with Sensor dimmers under these settings. I'll give it a try.

Altman SpectraCycs going batty. Any ideas?

I've got a daisy chain of 14 Altman SpectraCyc 100s set up through 3 circuits (6, 6, & 2) set as non-dims (switched). Most of the time they're fine, but after a while (sometimes minutes, sometimes hours) one of them at random will start flickering a barrage of colors at full. When this happens...

Design Issues and Solutions Vectorworks Spotlight: Object Conversion to Lighting Position Problem

I just figured out/remembered. It's the page setup. It thinks it's printing to an 8.5" x 11" instead of Arch E. Fixed it in Page Setup. Thanks anyway. Still ponderous on the light position, though.

Design Issues and Solutions Vectorworks Spotlight: Object Conversion to Lighting Position Problem

Also, I've got a gray bounding box in the middle of my plot that's just plain annoying. I don't have any viewports saved, so I don't think it can be that, though it does show the "Vectorworks Educational Product" watermark on the edges of that box. It's not life-or-death, just annoying.
