Setting up ETC LEDs on New Board

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the responses. Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you, I'm working prep period to prep period. So, I've tried some of the suggestions that people have been offering and I have had a half-success, but it has raised some other questions. So here's a progress...

Setting up ETC LEDs on New Board

I checked, they are the ColorSource Wireless relays. We have four of them, one per electric. And they are D20s, though I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "parked at full," is there a way that I can check? As for the company installing them. They did come and install them initially, but that...

Setting up ETC LEDs on New Board

Hahaha. I am trying to find a polite way to say that. He's a great guy, and the reason I even have some of this equipment, but the majority of his experience is in sound. So, like I said, we're both learning. I did kind of go behind his back here... hopefully he doesn't frequent the site...:shifty:

Setting up ETC LEDs on New Board

Hopefully this will help a little. It's nothing fancy (Microsoft Word. I mean, I could have used MS Paint...)Each electric has a ColorSource Wireless Relay, which is hooked up to the electric using an adapter that goes from the relay to an L5-20 twistlock (what our electrics use). So, for...

Setting up ETC LEDs on New Board

    1. Apparently I'm only using one of my DMX ports on the back of my board. It has a DMX cord that runs to a port in the wall of my booth labeled "DMX 1 Input." There is no DMX 2 input. I don't think we're running any sort of a network. I would assume that this port is hardwired all the way back...

Setting up ETC LEDs on New Board

Hey everyone, I’m a theater teacher for a relatively small high school program. I don’t have a lot of technical experience and I’m trying to wrap my head around some stuff when it comes to LEDs, DMX, Dimmers, Channels, etc. So, this may be a long post, I may have some fundamentals wrong, and if...

Rental Clients and Food in the lobby

This seems to be part of the problem. Is there a way that you can convince your principal that if she wants the group to have this option that a custodian needs to be there to assist with clean up? Is there any way that you can include a custodian in the rental cost? Our custodians need to be at...

Attaching Double-Sided Flats to a Wagon

Hi folks,I've tried searching the forums, but I can't find a good answer.I've got an 8'x12' wagon that rotates to show the exterior and interior of a cottage. So we decided to put some double sided hollywood flats on them. I've got two walls that will meet at a corner, one is 8'x8' (with a...

    L5-20s on ETC Par EAs?

I work at a high school and I need to repair/replace some of our lights. Our system (at least the electrics) are pretty old. They all fit an L5-20 twist-lock plug. We have a bunch of ETC Par EAs that are missing their lamp burner assembly, and I plan on ordering some, but I'll also need to order...

    Tech Challenges from Shows

That's exactly the kind of explanation I was looking for! Thank you so much. Pictures would be great, but I definitely don't want you to go too much out of your way to find them. This one was especially helpful because that's a show that I'm looking at doing in the next few years.

    Making Footloose Special

I haven't read the script forever, but when I was in it 10 years ago I loved the "Holding out for a Hero" part. We did the same thing with the fog machine behind the counter. And I don't know if it was in the script or not, but we also had four of our buffest boys (for theater kids anyway...)...

    Tree blossom on stage

Though film is on the way out, I bet you could still find enough for your project. They're on the endangered list, but not extinct yet. I worked at a small photo lab a couple of years ago, and we would still process 5-10 rolls a day. There are a few die-hards out there still. We would always put...

    Tech Challenges from Shows

Hi all, I just started as a high school theater teacher and I have a tech class of about 35 kids (way too many for one class IMO). The kids can take the class multiple years, but it's essentially the same class (just building sets for productions). One thing that I've found is that the kids will...

What's the inspiration behind your user name?

Coming up with user names feels more stressful than naming my firstborn. So I went simple. I teach at a high school where our mascot is the Mighty Red Devil. So that's what I've become. It's not blasphemy if it's a mascot right? Although I found out from the kids that the mascot was named after...

    New Member from UT.

Hi Everyone. I feel like one of those people on the radio "long time listener, first time caller." I've been following the board for a little while but I finally decided to get in on the posting action. I'm a new theater teacher at the high school level (officially got the job about a week ago...
