Anyone own a Vari-Lite VL500, and could take a close-up photo for me?

I didn't think about searching for vari-lite owned patents. There is some good info there, thanks. KevBot PM'd me and ended up sending high-res photos and a short video of both a VL500, and an Irideon AR50. That was a huge help. Thanks guys!

Anyone own a Vari-Lite VL500, and could take a close-up photo for me?

Hey everybody, I'm looking for some close-up photos of the syncronization ring assembly on a VL500. it's for a outside-of-the-theater project, where i want to understand how the vane system works. I can't seem to find a photo online. The closest thing i can find is zooming in on pg...

Are LED pars bright enough to actually be usefull?

Even when you account for deep gels, the LED units still loose. Their power output goes way down when you're only running some of the LED's. Again, referencing the AMDJ units here (which appear to be inferrior), the lux output goes down to 7% when just the blues are on compared to "white"...

Are LED pars bright enough to actually be usefull?

So, i contacted my usual supplier, and he said he had a few american DJ units (8 units), just really to experiment with. He wasn't impressed enough to buy any more. He did say that he would buy more, if i was willing to rent them. I managed to find photometric data for his units so i...

Are LED pars bright enough to actually be usefull?

Thanks for the comments. Using this many more units would probably erase any reduction in power draw. Looks like the only advantage of these units would be the broad-spectrum color mixing capabilities. To answer soundlight's question, i don't know what brand my regular supplier has...

Are LED pars bright enough to actually be usefull?

Hey guys. Planning a show (contemporary dance show) in a venue with basically no available power. Just 15A wall circuits, and i don't know how many (No, i didn't pick the venue!!!) With low available power, my first thought was LED pars, since they cosume very little power. I've only...

looking for help making blood slap-bags

Just wanted to fill everyone in. Ended up running the effect with a hidden squirt-bottle of blood that the actor picked up while his back was to the audience. But....we DID end up figuring out how to make blood packs that worked, and wanted to share it. Here's how> Using the fingers off...

    Kliegel Control Protocol

I had to troubleshoot one of those old kliegel boards once. At that age, it's definitely analog. If i remember right, Kliegel used some weird control voltage, like 0-18V, 0-36V or 0-48V or something like that. Good luck!

    Home built speakers

http://www.partsexpress.com is a great place for speaker building parts, all your connectors, drivers (raw speakers) and literature on speaker building. They have a significant section of their catalog (and website) dedicated to speaker building. Although most of it is not PA-type speaker...

I'll give that a try. Taping them to leave only a small area exposed. Thanks!

looking for help making blood slap-bags

Hey everybody. I have a question. I'm doing a show where we need blood packs that an actor can pick up, and slap onto their chest, and get a blood effect. Most places i can find seem to reccomend using unlubricated condoms, filled with fake blood. This doesn't seem to work, the condoms...
