Hey Everyone,I usually try to figure things out myself, but I'm at a loss and I need help.I have two projectors, one left and one right, pointed at the front of a house, pretty complex object. What I want to do is to create a flat image, so that the net effect is essentially have one...

What is this? (USB controlled servo for projection shutter)

Okay, thank you. Looks like I'd have to make it myself, only commercial one I can find online is from City Theatrical(No City Theatrical, I am not paying $500 for a $30 piece of hardware thank you.)

DMX (or serial) controlled Relay (Non-dim)

lol, thats embarrassing. Doesnt really need to be mechanical, i know that would be better for smart devices, but really i wouldnt mind a cheap relay pack for lights that i dont need dimmed, just on/off. if i can save money that way, thats really want im looking for.

DMX (or serial) controlled Relay (Non-dim)

Weird, i definitely would think it would be the other way around. Still doesnt explain the Chauvet device, which for all intensive purposes seems to be what i want, except that it lacks DMX control. These devices, unfortunately, are out of my budget, but thanks anyway. Im going to research this...

DMX (or serial) controlled Relay (Non-dim)

Yeah, didnt mean it to sound like i wanted to connect anything smart to a dimmer. The Lep. device is about $500 for four channels, so definitely out of price range. The device Footer mentioned is more like it, however still a bit expensive. i cant find where it says how many relays/channel it...

DMX (or serial) controlled Relay (Non-dim)

I've always found it curious that at the DJ level (or basically as-cheap-as-you-can-get level) there are only dimmer packs available with the ability to both switch and dim. They start at about $70ish.But this also exists. It's half the price and double the channels. Problem is, it's not dmx...

    DMX controlled Solenoid Valves?

    1. Im sorry if im irritating some of you. I dont mean to. All i am saying is that i dont have the luxury to do it the code way, much like many of you may (should), and because this is a system thats at home, away from the public, the rules i have to follow are different, yet still there. I WANT...

    DMX controlled Solenoid Valves?

Completely and utterly agree, but why on earth would I let anyone near the thing while its primed (even if they happen to wander by it, unlikely since no one goes in my backyard)? Safety is always a valid concern, but you have to admit that someone sticking their face in front of the spout is an...

    DMX controlled Solenoid Valves?

cHelpful. I can take "no" for an answer, but so far no one has provided a sufficient alternative, except for Footer. You wanna tell me that I cant do something, tell me a way i can. Because clearly there are automated water shows out there, so clearly it can be done automatically.Bottom...

    DMX controlled Solenoid Valves?

i mean codes that simply say "You shouldnt do this, and this is the better solution for thousands of dollars. I adhere to most codes. But you know, there are many things where people say, this cant be done, like running a water pump off a dimmer, and yet results say otherwise.

    DMX controlled Solenoid Valves?

Fair Enough. Im not just a backyard hobbiest, i actually am a lighting designer for stage, though this how "doing special effects thing" is something i do on the side and never do in my professional career, mostly because there is no need for stuff like water cannons or dancing fountains, but...

    DMX controlled Solenoid Valves?

Not quite sure why I would be standing directly under it, the house can withstand it unless it was built by two of the little pigs, and my neighbor does not own a covertible and usually does not park behind my house, though ill put a sign up just in case.

    DMX controlled Solenoid Valves?

So, then can you tell me what another way would be instead of simply dismissing DMX, cuz I have to say that isn't all that helpful. I'm looking for solutions and I am willing to listen, but if you are going to tell me to figure it out on your own, then I'm not quite sure why I came here...

    DMX controlled Solenoid Valves?

So what would you use to control it then? Keeping in mind im on a tight budget. For me, i dont see any chance of potential injury, and if i wanted to i could implement a few fail-safes (such as the system only being active for the 1 minute before and after it shoots off, etc) so the fact that...
