    Rear Projection - Scrim

If you are after single color statements on the scrim, seems like projections are more complicated than is necessary. Just my opinion.

    Need suggestions for wash gels.

I am here to echo Andy's comment. Get the paint elevation or a paint sample of the floor and get thee to the light lab!!! If you don't have a light lab, set up a light somewhere, focus it on the sample or elevation and start playing!!!

Design Upgrade from Altman (or similar) r40 border lights

I attended a cyc light shootout at a local PAC last week. Altman Spectra-Cycs, ColorForce IIs, GLP Fusions, and ETC ColorSource Cycs. IMO, the ColorSource Cycs were the clear winner, and are the direction the PAC is strongly leaning in. But, as John D mentioned, how far off the cyc your lights...

    Colortran Console brochures - 1980s

I was the ME at the Alley Theatre in Houston the 88-89 season, and they had just put in a full Colortran System. D192 dimmers and a Prestige 3000. As I remember, it was a really easy board to get around.

    Moving head fixture comparisons

I will chime in, in support of the Maverick line, and Chauvet in general. As a mid-sized college program in Ohio with not much funding, I ended up starting to replace our aging fleet of Martin Mac 2k Washes and Performances, and 550s, with Rogue 3 Washes and Maverick MK2 Profiles. I did a small...

    Automated Fixtures Looking to buy

I went to an open house at Vincent Lighting yesterday, and had a chance to work with the HES SolaTheatre and SolaFrame 750. I was really impressed with their feature set. A little pricier, I am afraid, than I can do right now, but really nice lights. Since you mentioned the Sola line, thought I...

LED wash comparison - input, please.

Hey, all.Starting to look toward replacing our seriously aging Mac 2k washes. Definitely going LED. I have a line on some B-stock HES Solawashes with very low hours. They are asking 2k per unit with road case. Also considering new Chauvet Rogue 3s, at about $2,400 per unit (no case) and...

    Moving Lights for Light Lab

Good morning, all. I am looking for some small, probably LED-based, movers for our light lab. My grid height is only 12', so I am looking for some fixtures with a decent beam spread.Looking for both washes and spots. Zoom on the washes would be nice. They don't need to be particularly useable...

    LED Wash Mover recommendations

It is always an issue with academic programs that do not have FT staff electricians........and there are a bunch of us that have sizable inventories of conventionals and movers that do not have staff MEs.When we purchased our Martins around 12 years ago, or so, I became a certified Martin...

    LED Wash Mover recommendations

Got some OLD Mac 2k washes that I am starting to replace. Am leaning heavily towards LED replacement. More funding if I go "green", etc.I have a Chauvet Rogue 2 Wash in on a demo right now, and have been fairly impressed with it; and it is damn hard to ignore the price point! It is not quite...

Automated Fixtures REVIEW: Chauvet Rogue R2 Spot

Hey, Soundlight,What company in Ohio has some? I am in Dayton, and the specs on the R2 Wash look really nice. Looking to replace some arc washes in our college theatre, and it is hard not to be interested when looking at their price point. (2) R2 Washes for the same cost as an Aura? Hmmmmm...
