    Chauvet COLORado

This may sound stupid, but if the 30deg lenses are used instead of 15, will the beam and field double as well?

    Chauvet COLORado

Hi all,I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Chauvet COLORado 1 tour RGBW. I'm particularly interested in photometrics at close ranges and color quality. I found the spec sheet, but was a little confused by the photometrics. The spec sheet says: installed optics 15deg, beam...

An annoying setup, because the lighting guy is lazy

Is there anyone else you can talk to besides this LD? Maybe there's someone who might just know something in the venue. I would hope that someone else knows the system besides him, but since its a community center, he might be the only one.I would try and locate the other end of the dmx input...

Looking for colleges with a strong projection, and possibly LED screens, program.

If you were looking into Emerson, I know they usually end up doing at least a show a year that uses projections, but its kinda like whoever wants to learn it can do it. There's not a real program behind it. I would also possibly look into Brandeis for projections.

    Dimmer capacity

You don't want to overload the circuits. That's bad news (that's how electrical fires are caused). If you overload them you'll screw up the cabling before it gets to the dimmers. You are sure that they are rated less than the dimmers though? Could the circuits be older than the dimmers? Anything...

    Dimmer capacity

Ah, I was assuming a 1 to 1 hard patch, but if you can play with the hard patch then...

    Dimmer capacity

It would appear that your circuit is going to be the limiter here. It can only hold 1800 watts. I've never personally seen a situation where a circuit can't hold as much as a dimmer, but it appears to be possible. Regardless, here's the math that you need to do to solve your problem. You have...

    DMX Basics: Scrollers

Thanks for all of your help everyone. As far as the separation of the scrollers goes, I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do. At this point, I'm leaning towards having my 8 scrollers in 2 groups of four. That way I have some flexibility, but it also keeps me from wanting to do too much...

    DMX Basics: Scrollers

Thanks everyone. I think you've cleared it up. I didn't know that dimmers were connected by DMX  thats where I got confused. So to clarify, if I wanted to use address 1. In order to control that address, I would patch dimmer 1 to channel 1. In effect, channel one would now control both...

    DMX Basics: Scrollers

Sorry, I'm still slightly confused. I know how to patch a dimmer to a channel. So say that I want to patch dimmer 1 to channel 1. But then I want to patch address 1 to channel 2. If I used the patch function for both, when I went to patch in the address, wouldn't it move dimmer 1 over to...

    DMX Basics: Scrollers

Thanks for all of the responses. I've found them all very useful.I still have a question about the patching aspect though.Wouldn't this only patch dimmer 513 to channel 95? Do you have to assign a dmx channel to a dimmer?Thats where I get confused I guess is the relationship between the...

    DMX Basics: Scrollers

I've just begun to take an interest in the DMX control system. For the next show that I'm doing, I was hoping to use DMX color scrollers. I understand the basic concepts of DMX, but I'm not sure how to execute them. So here's the process as I understand it to be: 1. Set the DMX channel...

    Conventional Fixtures Source 4 jr

First of all, thanks for all of the great advice. If anyone is interested, I'm hoping to set up a blog right after this post.I'm not sure why I said light brown, brown in general would do. Actually I was just looking at chocolate the other day, I think its R99. I'm afraid, like you said, that...
