    Chauvet IP 3-Pin Adapters?

I would say that these Chauvet IP DMX to Normal DMX adapters fall under things that should come automatically with a specific item... much like a powercon or true1 power tail, the light is more or less useless without the adapter.(I do in fact work for a rental house that has these lights, and...

    I-Cue, PATCHING PAN AND TILT

Port 2 is where the DMX cable is plugged in on the back of the express - there's port 1(usually where the cable to the dimmers is plugged in) and port 2(usually where the cable to other devices, such as I-cues, in your case, would be plugged in). These are labelled.Start address is the first...

    I-Cue, PATCHING PAN AND TILT

The other thing to check on the express(if all 3 I-Cues remain not working after the steps listed above) is that port 2 on the express is set to 513. I don't remember exactly where, but somewhere in Setup you can change the start address of each port.

Open 4/12, dmx decoder/LED tape works from board not stage.

To clarify on RDM - I don't expect the decoder to have any RDM functions, but one of the troubleshooting steps we usually recommend is turning RDM off on your console or gateway, just to be sure.

Open 4/12, dmx decoder/LED tape works from board not stage.

#1 - Your link to the decoder is the same as the link to the LED tape.#2 - Are your decoders(generic RGBW fixtures) patched in the same universe as the PHX1.5 profiles that do work on that DMX out port? If the setup works when directly connected to the console, it *should* work on any DMX port...

Best practices as house when hosting touring production's lighting network

I'd also like to note that the Cisco switches in ETC installed projects can be configured to block/allow any sACN universes, either individually or in ranges, on any physical network port.(good for multiple spaces on one network, or for blocking all except specific universes from a tour's input...

Focusing fixtures for an even overhead wash

Remember that beam angles touching at the floor means gaps at head height - Traditionally, you'd plot the beam pools touching at 5' or 6' off the ground, to avoid dark spots on faces. This does mean that you'll end up with bright spots on the floor.

    Recommendations for tool lanyards?

I'm firmly in the squids camp(manufacturer ergodyne - @egilson1 linked above) - I have a couple of the 3100 series - which start at a much more reasonable $13 each. They've worked well for me for years(had to replace the carabiners a couple times, but the lanyard is still in great condition)

Color matching between Colorsource and lustr

note that this only works on fixtures that take the RGB value and do the math for extra emitters. Lights that only have RGB emitters, or some other types of lights that simply turn off extra emitters when in RGB mode, will not match.

Color matching between Colorsource and lustr

If both fixtures are in RGB mode, they should match reasonably well. (RGB on these is a calibrated mode, rather than direct control of the individual emitters)If not, when you switch the profile in the show file(assuming you are using an ETC console), the console will try to match the colors...

Design Google sheet template instead of Lightwright?

If your plot is small, the demo version of Lightwright works for up to 75 lights - just download the software from Lightwright.com and click "Continue in Demo Mode" after installing. For a magic sheet, I've always just drawn it in vectorworks - circles, squares, and text boxes work great. If...

    Batten rigging configuration.

I would recommend replacing the trim chain with a truss pick: https://www.thelightsource.com/products/12-mega-truss-pick-34The Light Source makes multiple sizes, so if your pipes are spaced to match one of them, it's an easy swap. Also they're already engineered for this type of load...

Pls Help! ETC Dimmer Rack going out!

Note: If the problem follows the dimmer module, it's a bad dimmer module. If the problem stays with the slot, it's a problem with the fixture(light), wiring(dimmer rack to light), or control circuitry in the rack.Other settings to look at are threshold, proportion, and curve, in addition to...

Vintage Lighting I bought this light for my kid, what can you tell me about it? Times Square Stage Lighting Company

Looks like an Inky to me (3" Fresnel). I've mounted plenty of them on sets and stages, either because it's visible on stage and the designer likes the aesthetic, or because we needed something small and relatively bright, with a soft-edged beam of light. No idea how old it would be, but there...

    knot for cable pick

"Rated carabiner" simply to differentiate from the cheap ones that I wouldn't even trust to hold a poster.(the ones that hold my keys to my belt) Generally I would use a climbing 'biner with a locking gate.Anything that takes significant weight, or has the potential for damage/injury, is...
