    Adapters

The one on the left is more dangerous to people, because they could touch the pins while it is live. And i have no clue what they're for. I've see power adapters for powered speakers similar to this, but those wouldn't be 3-phase.

Use of trig in lighting design

I honestly have no clue, I just kind of reasoned it out, and I don't have a graphing calc with me to try to figure it out right now...

Use of trig in lighting design

ac voltage is a sine wave... the distance between 2 legs 120 degrees out of phase would be 208, correct?

Use of trig in lighting design

thats what I meant, if they were 180 degrees apart, there would be 240 volts between legs 1 and 2 instead of 208... correct?

Use of trig in lighting design

Is it because the hots aren't 180 degrees out of phase?

Use of trig in lighting design

I knew how it was used in sound, but instead of just repeating something I already knew, I wanted to actually learn something new, such as its uses in lighting... Thanks for all the replies. You guys have been immensely helpful.

Use of trig in lighting design

Hi, I'm Brandon. I've been on here before, but never really stuck around much. I have a project for school that requires me to find practical applications for trigonometry, and i know it is used in lighting design, but am not sure exactly how. (I mainly do sound.) Any help would be appreciated...

I joined a while ago and introduced myself, but then never really got on until now. My name is Brandon, and I'm a Student Tech Director at my school. I mainly concentrate on sound, but know basic lighting. Hope I can offer any knowledge I have that you guys could use.

    Video stage monitoring

We do basically the exact same thing. My school had a TV system put in when it was built with TVs in every room, including dressing rooms, and we video all of our shows, so we take a feed from the camera on our spot deck, and it goes to a certain channel. We set the TVs in the dressing rooms to...

    Lavliers/mic placement

Another advantage of the Countryman is it can be kept off the face until AFTER hair and make up is done so you don't have to worry about idiots getting make up in their mic (yes, that actually happened during a show, to one of our $300 MKE-2's, it makes me so mad...)
