    Painting (and repainting) with glitter?

Depending on the metallic paint you are using, some tend to run thin and if you water it down to get it through a hudson, it's unlikely it'll have enough saturation to get the effect you want. You'd be better off spattering.

That's about the size of it...No really, how much Size do I need?

Other things to know when painting a drop for the first timers are:1. Always order your drop bigger than what you want the finish size to be. I tend to get my 6 inches bigger in both height and width as even the best made drops will not be square or the exact size you ordered. Draw a box on...

What are the best scenic painting art courses worldwide?

As a professional scenic artist I have to respectfully disagree with Gafftaper. If you equate scenic art with drops and theatre only, then perhaps yes, the available of good paying jobs as a freelance artist will be hard to come by. However, the profession of scenic art doesn't begin and end...

Sculpt or Coat® vs. CrystalGel vs. Jaxsan 600

Sculpt or Coat is a flexible coating that dries clear and smooth unless tinted or other textures such as sand or sawdust are added. In the shops that I have worked, those that could afford it, it was used to coat scenery or props carved out of foam. Due to it's thickness it is also good for...

Advice needed to paint realistic wooden floorboards

Realistic wood grain for a floor is time consuming and unless you have the time or crew to help, I wouldn't recommend it. However, if you do have the time this is how I approach a realistic floor. I start from the lightest color and move to the darkest to help create depth and richness. For the...

Hey,My name is Katina (Kat) Parham, i work in the Atlanta area as a scenic charge/artist in various theatres around town. I was encouraged by my husband to share any paint advice I could. I have answered a few questions through him and figured it was time I made my own account.
