Old School 512

Lighting has been good to me and a technical and creative outlet. 20+ years of Stage/touring/industrials and large nite club installs. Now all the newbies I took with me are the teachers, Ah the student is now the teacher. I love this life but had to retire early due to medical problems. Now its 15 years down the road the importance of being a V*L certified tech is almost funny now.
So now I may have found a place to call home lighting wise anyway. A 1200 seat venue that is renting um lights or should I say someones garage inventory of Par cans and dimmers on an unknown goofy console.
So now I think due to loss of ticket sales to two other venues that have the lighting required on the riders. Has pushed the owners to listen to an old lighting gypsy and get their own rig. So at 50+ I think this may be my last encore and if I can find a couple of interns to train to become LD's/Techs. I can say I have gone full circle from grunt to newbie to rig tech and then to FOH and being an LD. Now training the next generation my acquired knowledge, tricks and secrets. So they can light up and take audiences to new levels.
It is good to meet you all, wish me luck. I will be asking many questions. Right now I am blown away by all the options working LDs have today.
