Never waste a good techie on acting.
I spent years on the stage before I discovered my true love of tech work, since then I've learned about sounds, costumes, make-up, SM and Directing. I love it.
The school I go to requires auditions for everyone involved in a show (is that normal?) currently I am working sound design for Book of Days, my audition landed me the lead role, but I am much happier where I am now.
I also run a tiny (broke) theatre company on the side, we are gearing up to do A Company of Wayward Saints in January 2014. I'd love to get some tips on how to make the most of a show with no money.
