Elation MAGIC 260 not powering up

Hi guys, I recently pulled an old Elation Magic 260 DMX controller out of storage after probably 10 or 12 years and decided to check it out for functionality. On power up the display does not light up at all and I am just getting a very dim flash on the top row of characters, nothing else. I...

    Control/Dimming Elation Magic 260 crash

Just to add to the post, I just pulled an old Magic 260 out of storage after maybe 10 to 15 years of downtime wrapped up in bubble wrap inside a taped up garbage bag. So I decided to give it a go and started it up and the display just lit up very dimly with a single band of square LCD characters...

    Fog machine spitting fluid

I can't return it as I'm located in another country. I would think that the heating element itself could fail as I've encountered elements that do no heat up at all in the past. I was wondering if it's possible that the spitting may be caused by the element not reaching maximum temperature.

    Fog machine spitting fluid

Hi wizards, I have a question. I'm trying to repair a Chauvet Hurricane 1301 fog machine. It's a relatively cheap model but it's quite reliable. I have a couple of these units but one is spitting fluid so I am seeking some answers here in this forum. The unit heats up fine and the remote...

    Chauvet RH1 Hybrid lamp issues

Units are practically brand new internally. I outfitted each one with a new lamp and ballast and zeroed the lamp hours. One works fine but the other strikes then douses after a few seconds. I've determined that it's an issue with the MH078E driver board that feeds the lamp fans. One fan doesn't...

    Chauvet RH1 Hybrid lamp issues

Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone is familiar with the Chauvet RH1 Hybrid unit and any lamp issues they may have with them. I've got one that strikes on startup and then the lamp douses after a few seconds. I tried swapping out the 60MM lamp fans, the main 92MM lamp fan, lamp and ballast with...

    Pan optical sensor issue??

I have 3 units down for various issues. I'll swap out the pan driver IC first and see if this is the issue, then the motor, then get back to you with an update. Thanks for the advice so far!!!

    Pan optical sensor issue??

Hi wizards, can anyone take a look at this video and let me know their views as to what is causing the pan to function like this on an Elation Platinum 5R Spot? I've swapped out the motor, the pan driver PCB and the magnetic and optical sensor and I've also tested the motor, magnetic and optical...

    5R / 7R advice

Hi guys, I'd love some wizard feedback on 5R/7R lamps and ballasts. Normally, I purchase lamps and ballasts together and the 5R and 7R ballasts are normally identical but I know that the 5R lamp outputs 190W and the 7R, 230W. This wattage and the lamp terminal layout is the only difference. Are...

ADJ VIZI Beam 5R Ballast issue.

Hi guys, believe it or not, I'm having the same issue with 3 or 4 5R beams also, 2 Elation 5R Extremes and 2 "off-brand" 5R's. The major problem I'm encountering is that the tiny 6.3A fuse (on the "off-brand" unit) on the main 12VDC/24VDC/390VDC power supply blew out and I had to scrap down the...

    Leprecon LP-X24 issues

Just a post to say "Thank You" to Leprecon Lighting's support staff who assisted me with the rewiring of an older model LP-X24 to accept touch screen ability. I could not have done it without those guys. Special mention must go out to Larry Klenk and Don Stauffer. Thanks again!
