    Durable Flat Construction

When I've built Hollywood flats (the traditional term for a hardcovered/muslin covered flat) i've done the contact and sizing in one step, 2/3 part white glue to 1/3 part water.

    Board Clearing Itself

Most memory lighting consoles have an internal battery, sometimes attached permanately to the motherboard, at other times a smaller battry omewhere in the console. At any rate, if it's dumping memory the battery is most likely in need of replacement

    Source 4 or Shakespeare

The Shakespeare IMO is an inferior product.... Altmans answer to the Source 4. Ive had the 2 side by side and feel the output of the Shakespeare is less of the Source 4, and it feels as if any adjustment on the shakespeare is awkward. And with the amount of Source 4's in rental inventories...

    SFX Cannons

The Big Shots Are nice compact well working units... but can be expensive. I was able to build exact replicas of the Big Shot's for about $150/piece (this included all the Aluminum (for the frame) Steel for the tank, fittings, solenoid etc) And they work great.

building your own clearcom/telex head set

Yes it will work. I've know several people who buy a small computer etc headset mic combo and change it to a 4pin XLR. You just need to know the pin-out for the headset you have and the corresponding pin-out of the com system.

    Procrastination

Welcome to Every Type of Theatre............ I've opened large scale touring shows, only to have the only full run through when an audience is sitting in the seats. (of course those were also the same shows that tanked prematurely )

looking for help making blood slap-bags

If the taping doesn't work (almost always has for me) The next alternative is to try and find small water balloons (they're made just hard to if find, about 1/2 the size of a normal one) I've found that these filled with a small amount of liquid can burst easily.
