    30' Revolve

Ok. So your looking at a circumference of ~93'. Thus 1/3 of that would be 31'. So in order to rotate 120 degrees in 30 seconds, which is your minimum, your looking at the this revolve traveling at 60' a minute which is fast to have scenery and people on. I would rethink this first. As for...

    30' Revolve

I am going to assume this is a 30' diameter? How fast do you need this to rotate 120 degrees? After you answer these questions you can be better advised on your options.

Why is it called dimmer beach?

I would imagine it has to do with the sea of cables and heat associated to hundreds of dimmers in a semi enclosed space.

Rosco Coldflow vs. LSX Low Smoke Converter

The only experience I had with a Rosco Coldflow was not a good one. We have one in our inventory as well as dry ice machines so I was testing both to see which gave a more suitable effect for our show. The coldflow was certainly wasn't quiet while it was cooling down, while not loud I would be...

Controlling two chain hoist at once

Attached is a mockup of our space and the potential new system. This should help give you a better idea of what we are proposing.

Controlling two chain hoist at once

We would go motor up. Above the false ceiling of the lighting position is a small crawl way which we currently use to run extra cables or whatever to the position. As for building the motor controller.... We used to have a counterweight assisted lighting bridge which was removed some time...

Controlling two chain hoist at once

This will all be permanently rigged so the spansets and stuff will not come off. Our goal is to have it only get lowered to about 4' above the deck to protect the instruments from getting smashed into the floor.

Controlling two chain hoist at once

Does this not at-least mostly solve the issue that they wont be in sync? If the limits are set to the same trim height will they always return to that height within an inch?

Controlling two chain hoist at once

Ok. For educational purposes only at this point would it be possible to incorporate a limiter into the system, or adjust the internal one so the hoist automatically stops at the out trim? We are using this for a fixed position so our trim will always be the same.Currently it is two sets of...

Controlling two chain hoist at once

For a final project in my rigging class we are designing and installing a motrorized lighting position in our theatre. Currently our apron lighting position is dead hung over the stage and only accessable via genie or ladder. Our TD/teacher has offered us the opportunity to motorize it as the...

Running standard AC extension cable near LX

I would agree that it was an inherent flaw in our design besides the fact that it merely takes the power from the bus bar through the breaker and into the choke. We built these because we could not find any constant power or relay modules for the D192.

Running standard AC extension cable near LX

A lot of people have recommended using constant power or relay modules if his rack is allowing. We actually have had serious problems with this. We are using an old D192 rack and built some non-dim modules by bypassing the SCR on the tray. We have had 3 of the MLs we powered off that...

    Isadora Video Mapping

I am still waiting for my sign-up on the Isadora forums to be confirmed by a moderator.... :confused:If anyone here know anything about this I could really use the help. I am exporting a .3ds file from VW 2012 and Isadora is not liking it. I have attached a copy of my files if anyone wants...

    Isadora Video Mapping

We are attempting to do video mapping with Isadora. The problem we are running into is that whenever we import our .3ds file into Isadora it won't recognize the shape that we have created. I exported it from Vectorworks 2011... After some further investigation of the file and the example...
