What console does this remind you of

Rumor has it that a bunch of the HES developers (or engineers...) are now working for Chamsys. That would explain the similarities between their consoles and the Hog range. Looking at the MQ100 though, that frame is pretty much spot on for a HOGII. Nostalgia anyone?

    D54 and MPX protocols

I was always under the assumption that D54 was a Strand-only protocol, similar in function to AMX-192 but with half of the channels. So it'd be an AMX-96 sort of. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me!

Conventional Fixtures I like to lamp my S4's at....

750w right now but that's with a 35' trim in a concert situation.

    Origin of the Word Camlock

Well, you could blame the "Cam-Lok" branded connectors.

    Automated Fixtures I-cue w/ Tremor

How much of a shake? Data issues with I-Cues I've seen get very small and sparratic shakes. Nothing that's very repetative or solid. A vent is possible, never seen it happen though, the stepper motors should be enough to prevent most of that sort of thing from happening. I'm thinking data...

    Control/Dimming Who needs CamLocks?

I think we've always called them C5 connectors....if they're the ones I'm thinking of. It's late, and I'm tired.edit: and I'll take camlocks any day over those. Only good use I have for them is lower amperage connections mid-distro (think CLD distributed to a bunch of MLD units)

    Riddex Plus for houses

RIDDEX PLUS DIGITAL PEST REPELLER - Electronic Pest Control - TV Website is the website for the product for those interested in seeing what Ship's talking about. While I've never heard of it (aside from a bit of research just now) it seems like a complete load of bull....in the same field as...

    Control/Dimming HogII and gobo rotators

In the past I've built my own, but it's been a few years since I've had gobo rotators on my shows. You could always do it the easy (yet annoying to program) way and patch it as two seperate desk channels.

    Scroller issues

Few things could've happened, some more likely than others. I run a rig of CR2's and they all work flawlessly with the exception of a few jumped scrolls every once in a blue moon. That'd be the first thing I'd check, see if the scroll has jumped out of the alignment tracks, which would keep the...

    In need of a Hazer

You'll find that the oil based fluid in the DF50 will gunk up everything with a nice thin film. The output is nice though, and that style of hazer (who's name is on the tip of my tongue) has a very even distribution and fills a room nicely. Should also note they're fairly loud, and while not a...

    In need of a Hazer

Yes, I forgot to mention but Bill got it, the Radiance uses the same fluid as the Neutron. Only real difference is that the Neutron is an awful piece of machinery, and the Radiance has better output and breaks far less.

    In need of a Hazer

We've been using the Radiance on tour for months now, and it's fantastic. I'm doing a club tour, so dealing with all sorts of ceiling heights and fire detection systems. So far we have had zero issues, and I run it a bit hard. Approx. about 40% output all night in an 800 capacity venue. We...

    Smoke IEC Extension

I've got a fogger that uses IEC for it's control cable. It's a low voltage signal, although not sure what voltage, but I just cut the remote cable in two parts, added edison ends and now just make it however long I want with the edison cable that I have loads of.

Mac 600 vs. Studio Color 575

Although I seem to be a bit late with this comment, don't forget that the SC575's are fanless, and so while still not silent, do run quieter than the M600's. If noise is no concern though, I'll spec the M600's over the SC's on my shows any day.
