    iPC and Hog 4

Hey all, I've searched a few times over the last month, but I haven't been able to find info regarding the iPC and Hog 4. I'm guessing this box is end-of-life, but as the hardware was able to run Hog 2 and Hog 3, I have to wonder if it can run Hog 4? Thanks Jeff

    Video Editing and Publishing Software

If it's taking 8 hours to render out a DVD you've got something wrong with your workflow or a machine that should have been retired a long time ago. I've had a dvd rendering at work, while I was working in Motion..and while I had an h.264 web compression going on in Compressor. The DVD was...

    Design Uninviting Lighting

Well, the show happened a while ago. I finally remembered that I promised some show pictures. I'll quickly tell the tale of how it all went first. It started off on the wrong foot when the LD showed up for dry tech about a half hour late. I had my sound system set up already (it's a black...

    Design Uninviting Lighting

Thanks all! I think I'm going to suggest a 4 point setup with a pool of light near the door on the set. Usually there is tension by the door.

    Design Uninviting Lighting

I'm looking for a bit of lighting design advice here. This is the first time I've done any designing, and I'm not even the designer technically--but the designer knows less than I do. I'm helping out with a production of Fool for Love by Sam Shepherd. The show will be presented in a small...

    Installs Professional Dorm Room Setup?

There's a reason few people get too fancy when it comes to electronics in a dorm room. Also you stated something about QSC amps, but nothing about the size of the amp. At the levels you'll be driving them your signal-to-noise ratio may not be that favourable. Most of the time you'll be...

    What not to do

Don't assume you know, or can figure it out when you really should ask someone who does know or has figured it out before. Don't ever think you've learned it all. Do remember there's always more to learn. Do educate people who know less than you do.

    Mackie boards? bad???

I was like the OP for a while, wondering what the problem with Mackie is. They seemed like great units that never had a problem, Mackie was about all I had used though. When the Mackie 32.8 at our church got replaced by an A&H ML5000 I all the sudden realized what everyone says about Mackie is...

Is a Mac too much to ask for?

I realize I'm a bit late here, but my thoughts on the matter are that the IT guy may have been absolutely reasonable, or stepping over his bounds, it depends on what the computer gets used for. The church I go to has a contract with Dell. All of their PCs come from Dell. That's just how it...

    Concrete Hardware

I spent a summer pretending to be an electrician. I blasted through about 8 inches of concrete using a 4 1/2 inch hole-saw style concrete bit once. Those big hammer drills get heavy, and it's so loud too. After that day I started bringing ear protection with me in case I was going to be doing...
