    Microphones Hanging mics

+1 on the AT U853. Its a nice, natural sounding mic. +1 also on the required nimbleness of board op for balancing overheads (or other area) with rf mics. Phase cancellation is always a concern too (not that it isn't worse with two rf mics in close proximity). I also use downstage boundary mics...

    Wireless Mic Tape

Some folks swear by the 3M surgical tape. Others use moleskin. Since, the 3M tape is clear, you'll need some markers to cover the wire against actor's skin. Moleskin is, to my knowledge, only available in one flesh tone. I've had few (if any) problems with adhesion for both of these.

Which frequency range? Checking my work.

I'm surprised that Sennhieser still lists the 700MHz band on their material. That's one of the things I like about Audio Technica- they quit selling 700MHz gear years ago (in anticipation of the coming doom).

hooking up PC to soundboard for playback

Brad, this is not an uncommon problem- there are numerous threads on PSW on this very subject. I promise I'm not making it up!There doesn't have to be an audio path open- its noise from the laptop's transformer (a high pitched sound much like the OP here described). All my rack components...

What are some good Front-fill speakers?

Generally, I think its a good idea to use something with a low vertical profile to protect audience sightlines. +1 on the M1D (7" high with about 100 degree horizontal coverage) but bring money. I'm partial to the JBL VRX928 (9" high and also 100 degree coverage) and it is relatively affordable.

hooking up PC to soundboard for playback

Because the laptop is connected to the PA via USB (on the pc end) to RS-232 (on the DSP end) it entered the system. Lifting the ground on the transformer (or running the pc on battery) made the noise go away. Since battery life was about 30 minutes, I chose to lift ground and run that off a GFI...

    Small headworn wireless mics

I have had great results with the AT microsets. They now have a newer model that is even smaller that I have not used yet but the AT892 was very natural sounding and, coming in several colors, relatively low profile. I also use the Countryman E6 sometimes and have good results with them too...

hooking up PC to soundboard for playback

I had similar noise issues a few years ago using my laptop to control my speaker processor. It was only when I lifted the ground pin on the inline transformer did the noise abate. As a rule, using ground lifts is a dangerous practice. It is the safety ground that will route current to earth if a...
