Has anyone used "Phonic" audio gear?

I'm trying to get a grasp on what kind of quality these folks offer, as I've never even heard of them before (which doesn't lead me to assume pro audio). I've been offered some PA gear at a good price which includes a Phonic Powerpod K-12, which is a 12 channel powered mixer (2x500w). If...

    Speaker advice, EV vs Yorkville.

Thanks for the replies. They yorkvilles are definately smaller and lighter, they EV's feel much more rugged. I'm going to spend some serious time in front of them.

    Speaker advice, EV vs Yorkville.

I'm looking at a potential purchase of some used speakers primarily for a band to use as a jam PA. Secondarily, they would be used for small gigs (lighter bands, ambient music) in small venues with no more than 200 people. The used speakers in question are a pair of Yorkville YS-115's (it's...

me? heckno. Set draft in vectorworks, then export, then drop lights in. It's nice being able to have the moving lights render effects on stage and I'm not sure if spotlight can do the moving lights.

I use vectorworks 10 spotlight to draft my set and such up, but when working in the booth on the emphasis server I would use wysiwyg with the DWG file imported to design lighting....

    Greeting from the frozen north.

Stong, not strong.... I need a new name, I think almost every person I've ever communicated with on a forum has confused that name. Glad to hear there's more folk from this area on here!

Anyone very familiar with ETC expression/emphasis?

The server is run rj-45 through a switch and then into the board. The board outputs universe 1 to our dimmer rack via standard DMX512 and the second universe is dedicated to the 4 moving lights we own, via a second data cable... If the board and server aren't communicating in standard PC...

Anyone very familiar with ETC expression/emphasis?

This is spillover from another thread, but still working to solve the same problem. In short, I need to control 4 mac 500's from our stage deck, and I would like to do it without moving the lighting board. Our house tech has told (but not fully explained) to me that the expression board in...

D.I.Y DMX PC Parallel output dongle.

yeah. I had read through that already. I found and looked at some schematics for a parallel DMX out and it's not as simple as I thought, but it's entirely possible for me to do, even in Red Deer. http://users.skynet.be/kristofnys/images/picdmx.jpg Doable. Only 64 channels, but that's...

    Greeting from the frozen north.

I wasn't in school, I took a year off, did some freelance theatre work and some manual labour to get some funds together for school. I moved to red deer for the theatre tech program. I was in no position to apply to NTS or ryerson, so RDC is the next logical choice. The theatre tech program is...

D.I.Y DMX PC Parallel output dongle.

After much deliberation, I've come to the conclusion that the easiest way for me to control 3 mac 500e's from on stage is to use my laptop with some sort of dongle to output DMX. I'm giving a workshop on moving lights, and I'm currently stranded in red deer. I highly douby my ability to make...

    Greeting from the frozen north.

Hello all 530 of you! I'm new here, but not all that new to the performance tecnical community, I started at RDC in september this year, after moving from Calgary to do the theatre tech program here. Prior to that I worked as a house tech at a small theatre in Calgary as well of mounds of...
