    USITT Show Report

ME TOO!!! It was made very clear to me that the only reason this conference was approved for me to attend was because it was so close.Almost all University positions I see Require a master's degree and pay less than what I make here at the high school level. There is absolutely no financial...

    Recommendations for tool lanyards?

I am very hesitant to buy products like this from Amazon. It may say that it can hold 17 lbs, but how is that actually tested? It may say that it is "rated" to that amount, but has any actual testing proven that or is that just a guess? Based on the reviews the carabiners are awful and the...

    Batten rigging configuration.

In my very unqualified opinion, I think the side loading comes from the chain looping around the pipe and back to itself. Where it reconnects to itself is likely the problem as it side-loads that link. From a liability stand point, I would advise looking into the megatruss pick product linked...

Vintage Lighting I bought this light for my kid, what can you tell me about it? Times Square Stage Lighting Company

Love this Point! Go get the part, but make replacing the plug a bonding experience. Most high school tech's will never get the opportunity until they are in the field, so the experience of replacing a plug will help him and make him even more proud of the fixture. Definitely share this thread...

Casters without adding height? Bench dilemma

With no access to welding equipment , I would definitely go with felt furniture sliders. Don't go with hard plastic ones as they will scratch the floor. This is my favorite way to deal with couches as well. Way too many broken couch legs caused by sliding or by high-school stage hands...

    Help! Comet spot broken.

I don't know your background at all, but I think this falls into the category of question that if you have to ask, you shouldn't be learning it on the internet. If you were asking a specific question about part of the procedure, then maybe someone will chime in. But I don't think you'll find...

    Ron Hebbard

Just seeing this today. Incredibly sad news and Ron will be very missed here at CB. I will miss seeing his posts and reading his stories as it was always a good read. Its very hard to put into words how sad I feel to have lost a person who I have never met, but interacted with so much over...

Theater gifts for graduating Highschool Seniors

Just had the banquet last night and had an unexpected senior show up. They have been part of drama since middle school, but only through the class so I didn't expect them to come to the club banquet. That said, the kid totally deserved recognition so luckily, spray-paint dries fast!

I generally give a golden wrench to my favorites. That is to say, I spray paint a c-wrench gold.Note to self, I need two golden-wrenches for tomorrow's drama banquet.

Tangent: Interesting marketing ad I happened upon while viewing this thread. Coincidence? Probably. Hilarious? Definitely.

    Pin Spots

It's looking like my theater gremlin has hidden the manuals.... Remind me to set out traps... That said, I got the same 90 watt xpcleoyz movers from this thread back in November and I remember them having a 9 and 11 channel mode. I futzed with them for a bit but then got too busy to figure...

Any chance you could share a show file with that profile? I haven't been able to get one to work.

    Crowd control failure...again: https://www.masslive.com/news/2023/03/1-killed-9-hurt-in-stampede-at-glorilla-concert-in-new-york.html

Search "out of control escalator Rome" for a good example of why you don't want to test the capacity on those.

High school theatre fire in PA

I know Frollo is supposed to try to burn Esmerelda at the stake, but I prefer using a fog machine for the effect. Verisimilitude be damned.Seriously though, such a shame. I feel for that community.
