    Curtain call for crew?

As avkid said, they do sit out in plain view. Musicals for example may have their band on stage and then they will get an acknoledgement at the end of the show because they are also acting. They don't do anything to distract from the action on stage, etc. But the way I originally put it...

    Video stage monitoring

So basically a show relay in the green room as well as for the SM. Always good to have. One of the theatres that I work at has basically the same system as propmonkey and it's well worth having if you have the equipment.

    Curtain call for crew?

I've been dragged out before and hated it. However there are people that like it and seeing as it sounds like it was a bit of a tradition I'd ask the crew what they thought. The cast at my high school used to acknoledge the crew and director on the final night but I've never seen that...

    Which is better?

There's no right or wrong way to do it. Typically you'll find it copied on one piece of paper on the left and then the blocking sheet on the right. As long as you can read it and someone else can if they need to take your place then you're set!

<insert greeting here> : from, London to the world

It seems like half the time I'm just reintroducing myself here. Tash again. Just a quick note to say that I'm back. I've graduated from drama school (whoot!) and am now a professional in the industry. How lovely it feels I cannot explain! I've also got myself a job working on Blood Brothers...

Haha. It was kinda crazy actually. What happened was I didn't decide that I wanted to do stage management until the start of my senior year. So I had no idea which schools to look at or consider or anything. Then I heard that I had to put together a portfolio/resume/cv of sorts and I ended up...

    ??ASM??

Ask your director if he wants rehearsal props. Typically when I've ASMed I haven't actually spent that much time in rehearsals because I was out "prop-hunting" (even if it is just for rehearsal props) or just generally getting lists together and making sure that there were worker lights...

    colours on people

http://www.rosco.com/uk/filters/supergel.asp#Color It's not exactly what you're looking for. Basically it's an online swatchbook and it also gives you suggestions for using the color. (Ex. Supergel #93: Blue Green [darker] Useful for mood of mystery and for toning scenery that has been...

Hey everyone! Argh I hate doing these things. Hi, my name's Tash and I'm a graduate school (well, the British version of it) stage manager who also rigs&ops sound and lights in addition to DSMing and ASMing. I've actually been here before under the screenname SMTashi when I was in high...

    bigger or smaller casts??

It's a lot harder to keep track of a larger cast. If it were me I'd try to find out some things about the members of the cast. See who was very reliable and who knew everyone cause it may come in handy. Otherwise, it's not all that much different. It just gets a little more stressful on occasion...
