    I need everyones input...

I'd say that if you can tell / hear / see whats going on from backstage, call it from there because then you can concentrate on your job, not on if the audience is being distracted by you talking or the lights you are reading by. Of course, if you don't et a clear enough picture of the show from...

    Bubble Tubes...

I know that fish tank shops sell air pumps with the hose ect for doing exactly this in fish tanks... so get one of those. The important thing is getting a watertight seal so the LEDs don't get wet. And I think mains supply (with a transformer) would be more reliable. What be really cool is if...

Need help with HUGE theatre in round in Vegas

At the end of the day, if they don't like speaking then you can't help them with that, and anyway it is the company's responsibility. What you need to drill into them is the notion of 'making contact with the audience' - picking out people, speaking to the entire space, not scanning, etc...

    Cosi` Design

My school did Cosi back in 2004. I didn't go to see it, so I can't help you there. However, from what i've heard about the show they lit a fire on the satge at one point. This would be quite an interesting effect if you could do it...

    Set Changes

We usually have hand-written sheets that outline what has to happen/be done by operators at each loaction, and the SM (me!) has a 'master plan', again hand drawn, in the Prompt Book

    Long and boring show

Or get a good Stage Manager to wake you up! Of course, (assuming this is high school) if you feel you are wasting your time with this show you could always stand aside and let some-one else operate the 2 cues.

No-one has dumped the bass player yet. Perhaps the Bass Guitar can gain a new reputation as a solo instrument...

    Little Giant Ladder System

We have something exactly like that but with a different name on it at school. I'll assume it's the Australian equialent. I would agree that it is very heavy and needs 2 people to manouvre. Apart from that, is locks securly into place and it is strong, stable and very versatile. Assuming...

    low voltage lamp questions

What will happen if you run a 12V/30W lamp off a 6V/30w transformer? I might be wrong, but I think it would appear at the same brightness but use more current. What’s the maximum wattage of 12V lamp you can run off a 12V/100mA transformer? 1.2 watts. What’s the maximum wattage of 12V...

    Rust, what is it?

I could well be wrong but isn't coal a form of 'wood oxide'? But yeah, rust leaves terrible stains on fibreglass and, I imagine, many other things. Such stains are difficult to get rid of, too.

    Rust, what is it?

ricc0like: THe DC current provides the electrons used in the reaction - the negative part 'pumps out' electrons, the posotive 'sucks up' electrons. In ac, polarity is constantly reversed so this ballances out and dosn't cause a reaction. Also, about the other metals... In chem thisavo...

    Rust, what is it?

Iron + Oxygen --> Iron Oxide 4Fe(s) + 3O2(g) --> 2Fe2O3(s) NOTE: This is a redox reaction. The half-equation for the oxidisation of Iron is: Fe(s) --> Fe+2(aq) + 2e- Iron Oxide is Rust. Nothing else is rust. Other metals do corrode, however. eg Lead Oxide, Tin Oxide, Aluminium...
