Automated Fixtures The Science of MLs

First prize is to attend a basic service training course- Martin do some really awesome ones around here. Once you've got one manufacturer figured out, the others are all applying very similar principles. There's some basic stuff in most user manuals as well- changing gobos and lamps etc...

    Hog vs GrandMA?

THERE ARE PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET WHO ARE **WRONG** hahahaha. Himesh Reshammiya (A Bollywood popstar) tours with a Pearl. Or rather, his LD specifies one. Along with Parcan hell, 16 ACLs, 8 8-light moles and 8 Cyberlight CXs. Hahaha. This thread has been going on for far too long. And funnily...

    ETC Express LCD compatibility

Real men connect their desks to Projectors. VGA is VGA is VGA is VGA. Plus it's unlikely that the desk will put out higher then 640x480, so any run of the mill LCD will do the trick. AND look cool.

    T.V. Wall

The answer may have been found already but was not posted here. Panasonic 9 and 10 series business displays have an onboard matrix function that lets you stack them 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 etc as well as the option to ignore the physical distance between screen edges or not- use depends on whether its...

    Oddity surrounding Martin Stagebar 54

Robe 2500 has an ethernet in, obviosly RJ45. I'm not using it at present though... Colorweb LED picks up RJ45 exclusively, granted it needs like a million universes to do anything...

    Installs Processor with submix capabilities?

RMP88 looks like the answer, thanks. Smart people don't connect to in-house systems unless they are in-house too, otherwise there's nothing but pain and suffering.

    Installs Processor with submix capabilities?

You noiseboys probably have the best answer for this. I've been working a lot in venues with their own in-house av systems- JBL Control or Bose 251 all over, processed usually with a DBX ZonePRO 640 and some DVD players, CD players or Satellite receivers for inputs, with euroblock connectors...

Any tricks for a strand 200?

Best trick I can give you is program your show as a chaser with a chaser and then use the chasers go button to give you one button playback. also means you need to have the same fade time on each cue, or make them all snaps and change them as you go along...

    touring salary requirements

What sort of monthly salary can one expect in the American touring industry as a ML Technician or Rackman, experienced and not- out here it ranges between R7000 for an inexperienced technician and R15,000 upwards for the experienced counterpart. Given the current exchange rate, that's roughly...

scent the fog, check with your local supplier. Who CARES what the band says?

    In need of a Hazer

uhh I hate to spoil the pariculate smoke detector alarm party, but if you have two foggers that work 100% without giving you trouble why don't you just put desk fans in front of them?

    New DMX Splitter

The Martin RS-485 is pretty much bulletproof. Way better than any Avo models that love failing when you're programming!

LeapFROG vs Robe ColorSpot 250AT. :-(

oh you legend. For future reference, use a generic desk to see which channels the fixture responds to in order to divine mode. Replace faulty 1/4" disk drive, find ancient desktop PC, copy new fixture library from laptop to 1/4" disk on desktop PC, load into desk. And get a blower to clean...
