Another attack in a theatre - Keeps happening again. Can we do anything?

You can only do so much. If the policies cover 95% or more of potential threats, then they're worth it. Bad things are going to happen, but we can reduce how often.

    Moving inventory from 575w S4 to 750w?

@ship The numbers are semi-arbitrary. There's 300's, 400's, and others, but that's grouping by sub-grade mostly (martensite, pearlite, etc.).304 is most common for general use, 316 for pools or other chlorine environments. 400's I've seen a lot in higher-heat areas like flues and exhaust, but...

    Twist-Lock connectors in schools

FWIW, where I was working pre-dates NEMA (which started in 1930). Found this out when I had to blank a box off and the plate doesn't fit. Ended up with 1/8" Luan painted to match the wall, drilled to match the screw tab spacing. Also, same place I found their original house lights, mogul screw...

    3-phase distro and 2-phase service

Monkey wrench, but 2-phase does exist, it's strange, and some power companies still serve it (especially, I hear, in Philly). We have an organ blower from 1928 running on it from a static phase converter.

    Interesting day.

My old stomping ground only had a handful of movers in their halogen rig. Used for SFX and for specials (multiples places per show). Hung on 1e or 2e, they'd be able to hit most of the stage.

Are Theatrical Relays Really Necessary In LED Based Systems

I saw a 100A breaker fail, weld itself to the bus, and melt neighboring breakers and bus. Ended up a full panel replacement. (To be fair, the new panel is much prettier).I also saw, in my face, an unseen 20A circuit fail to trip ANYTHING (including the main) when I discovered it the hard way-...

Roof Collapse: Apollo Theater Belvidere IL

We went to check ours once, apparently it had been a while as there was (somehow) a fish swimming around. 60 feet up.

    Altman 1KL6 worst light ever?

When my old theatre was converted (from movies to live) in 1983 the entire FOH was KL's. I was not sad to see them go in 2008. (They might have been overhead also, but by 2000's were S4)

High school theatre fire in PA

I want to say vents have been required since Iroquois burned, but I'm no expert. (Where I was had a cupola presumably for this since it was built in 1928. It was also sprinkled since construction. Note that we exceed 50' high).

    Raising the Palace Theatre NYC

Cedar Rapids moved the National Czech and Slovak museum. And raised it. And turned it 90°. If I remember correctly, it weighed 90,000 pounds. Was done for flood protection.

Control/Dimming Deep questions regarding network switches

If it's a "basic" layer two switch, then likely it helps that it's not overthinking the data. It sees the destination and sends it, no special rules or bloatware interference.Layer three switches, same thing, with the bonus that it can figure out more advanced routing.(I'd be more specific...

    Electrical problem with stage pin/adapter

I stayed in a hotel with the 546 everywhere. Fortunately they had an adapter for my CPAP, which I'd already switched to 1363 (as I'm from Edison land).
