    Patch Bay Label Plates

Absolutly. For a one-off job, there is no way that the Rhino machines would be the best choice. My reasoning for getting one myself was that they can do everything a regular machine can do, as well as the patch bays and (probably one of the best features for me) print on heat-shrink tube...

    Patch Bay Label Plates

For Patch Bays, I would recommend using a Dymo Rhino labeller. These machines are designed specifically for industrial applications and have tools which let you design patch bay lables that will line up. The website is here.

    Working at Heights Practices

One point I found interesting during my boom lift training was that apparently, a "competent person" in a legal sense is simply a person who takes the liability... So according to that theory, anyone who will sign on the dotted line saying that [xxx activity is safe] is now a "Competent Person"...

    Clearcom 2.5mm port questions

On the 601's programming with V-Pack is done through the 3.5mm TRS connector on the side of the pack, just to add to the confusion for the un-initiated...

    "Interesting" eBay find...

I find the description particularly disturbing... XLR Stage Box for Lighting or Audio applications (eBay item 300515375590 end time 22-Jan-11 18:17:46 AEDST) : Musical Instruments

    Headset attenuation circuit

This has been an issue with Telex Wireless (TR-800), Jands Ezicom and Clear Com RS-601 packs. On all of those packs, the level of the mic is proportional to the level of the earpiece, and the mic is as close to my mouth as is practical. I have swapped it out with a Beyer headset and there is...

    Headset attenuation circuit

They can hear me fine when I have it turned up (too loud for me) but they complain that I am very quiet when it is fine in my earpiece.

    Headset attenuation circuit

This should be blindingly obvious to me, but alas my mind has once again filed me... Problem: I have a CC95 headset (single muff dynamic headset from Clear Com) which I find invariably, very very loud in the headset, but the mic level is somewhat normal. The problem is when I have the volume...

    Electret microphone for ClearCom system

This is probably not the case for you, but if you happen to be using the current generation of Clear Com beltpacks (the 6xx series) they actually have an electret amp circuit built in. They even have a 2.5mm mini jack in addition to the 4 pin XLR, and both can be individually switched so you...

Fire Dept. / False Fire Alarms

We don't have many alarms. Most venues have alarms which are isolated when smoke/haze is used, and have varying procedures for isolation to ensure the safety of all involved. Usually an alarm in the theatre would be because someone forgot to isolate but due to the high costs thats uncommon...

    Black or other Boots

Seeings as you are in Australia, I would suggest a pair of Blundstone 347's. I have had several pairs and they start out as show shoes and progress down the chain until they end up as workshop shoes. I get them from here. I have found them to be very comfortable and not as industrial as most...

Fire Dept. / False Fire Alarms

In QLD Australia, the fine is very hefty. Its close to $1000 AUD if they are called (either by phone or by an automated dialer on an alarm) and there is no fire.
