    Dimming an AC/DC Power Converter

For a show I'm working on at my high school, we're wanting to put LED strip lights on part of our set. The link below are the lights we bought...

    Fixing Light Spill

I'm currently designing a show that will be performed in the round. For my general wash, I can't get the 6" Fresnels I'm using to stop spilling over into the audience. The problem is, I have 0 barn doors in my inventory for Fresnels of that size, and a technical director who isn't willing to...

    Warm/Cool Repertory Plot Plot

You have a point, that's just not the design I typically use in proscenium theaters or auditoriums such as the one OP is designing in. I usually use the McCandless method for the apron areas, lit from the FOH position with 26 degree ellipsoidals, and then use one warm WFL Parcan and one cool WFL...

    Warm/Cool Repertory Plot Plot

If I'm understanding correctly, you have warm lights for every area, but only two cool lights for the whole stage- while this method may light the entire stage, it may not accomplish the exact effect you're going for. I would suggest setting a cool light right next to the warm light for each...

    Lost control of lights

Hopefully it's just the power supply. I'm not sure we have any extra boards and we have four shows planned to open in this theater in the next two months.

    Lost control of lights

They are not on the same power leg. The dimmer rack has it's own power leg while the outlets that these LEDs are plugged into are coming from the school's main power supply- not the greatest idea, I know, but they're unimportant lights to the show and I don't have the parts to make or money to...

    Lost control of lights

I don't think that could have happened cause these lights were working fine and addressed just the same about four months ago, but I'll definitely check on Monday just to be safe.

    Lost control of lights

The lights did not turn off when I disconnected the second universe, but I also didn't turn the board off with that DMX line disconnected to see if that helped anything. I'll have to test that on Monday when I go back in.

    Lost control of lights

The first universe is not terminated, but it never has been and there's never been a problem. No, the LEDs are on a completely different power supply. Not hooked up to the dimmer rack at all.

    Lost control of lights

For about a week now, I have had lights set for a show that is to open in four days. Everything has been working fine, until today- I decided to add in four LED lights and a hazer on the second DMX universe. The LEDs and hazer work just fine, but as soon as I first turned the LEDs on, a fresnel...

    Thank you, again- very helpful.

    Control Powerpoint from Express 250

Thanks, very helpful. As for the MIDI device: could I just use a MIDI to USB cable? Or do I need an actual device between the light board and my computer? If I do need another device, what is an example of one that I could use? I am running a Mac, so I'll probably just use Qlab.

    Control Powerpoint from Express 250

I have a powerpoint presentation that we are using for projections in an upcoming show. Is there any way that I could control this presentation with an Express 250?

    Exploding bird

In our production of Shrek, we had one tree on SL with a hole in it where the nest was. Two techs could hide behind the tree and control the bird. We had one PVC pipe with a balloon on the end and another stuffed full of blue feathers. We removed the stuffing from a blue stuffed bird and put it...

    Addams Family Torture Chair

My high school is putting on a production of Addams Family the Musical, and I'm in charge of making the torture chair that Gomez demonstrates to Mal. Here's a link to a video of the OBC, fast forward to 41:38. I was thinking about rigging up a sort of pulley system under the seat that would...
