I would second/third the Elatin Arena Pat's. We just bought a bunch for our rental inventory and really like them. Having the zoom is really helpful and the output is great. Other than the not moving part, it can compete with an Aura in brightness and it doesn't have a donut hole when zoomed...
Of those 3 I would take the Hog 4 but there are some other consoles I'd consider. Take a serious look at a Martin M1 for that price range. Very easy to learn and an abundance of playback faders and buttons.
The best way that I've found to do it is just one list that executes MIDI triggers or macros attached to cues with the media is supposed to play for. I then have a macro that enables and disables my MIDI out depending on what you're doing.
A while back I did some LED tube things for a church. We used a 24 channel decoder with a 12v power supply and DMX line plugged into it. Each LED tube had a 18/4 cable run and soldered to it so each tube unit could be controlled individually and we could hide the box better. Something like that...
What you might be able to do is use OSC or MIDI to start the playback from audition and the internal clock at the same time. In order works have a first cue that starts the internal clock and sends an OSC string. Not sure how to implement this though.EDIT-
You might want to look at using...
Starting in your new file go into merge and select cues in advanced mode. You should be able to select the source from the second show and set the target as list 1 cue 201.
You should only need the communications module to get ProPresenter to send notes to OSCulator. So the cost is relatively low since OSCulator is only about $20 and the MIDI only module is ~$100 if I remember. THe only reason you might want the full communication module is to use artnet to control...
I would look into using OSC in this applocatio. Normally an Eos console can't accept MIDI MSC commands by itself beacuae it doesnt have the ports. You would need the show control gateway on the network with the MIDI connectors. An Ion has the connectors onboard but im not sure about the TI or...
I would second the JoeCo black box they are solid units and work pretty well. You may have to get a little creative to get it to do contact closures but there are serial and midi options that would work. Its also nice that you can swap shows/ events by changing out the thumb drives.
Any time you mess with the sine wave of the phases you end up creating the potential for the there to be current on the neutral. Imperfect loads do this by changing the waveform and creating harmonics while imbalanced loads will alter the size preventing the waveforms from balancing out...
Also on a 208v distro it is possible to create a phase imbalance or end up dealing with inductive/ capacitive loads causing current to flow on the neutral. Many times there are also 120v convince outlets which require a neutral. So while the individual 208v branches don't need the neutral the...
You are right you will need some kind of active extender. Midi looses integrity after about 30' if i remember correctly. Look into MIDI over eithernet XLR devices. They can extend the signal quite a bit but usually cost about $500 for a set.Edit:
Heres a device for $300 using twisted pair...
