Hey, I thought we could share pictures of our shows...

Just curious..... What did you use for the tubes?

    Alright.... I'll bite ETC....

This could also be a viable solution for venues with older systems. Like one venue I've been to, which didn't have a dedicated dimming panel, just a number of circuit breakers feeding into a bunch of 4-channel dimmer packs. Kept blowing fuses all through rehearsal, and had to station one of the...

Side debate about low budget consoles

I've done work in a community theatre space that uses a SmartFade 2496. For what they use it for, it's a nice little board. Their rig is a mix of conventional and LED, so the individual channel faders are nice. It's relatively easy to program. They have an older desktop PC next to it that I like...

Control/Dimming My Intelligent Fixtures Power Up When My Board Shuts Down

Sounds like it could be a setting on your Lyntec panel, causing it to send power to those circuits when the DMX signal stops. I'm not familiar with any of the Lyntec products, but it could be a good place to start.

Hey, I thought we could share pictures of our shows...

Getting set up for a dance performance about a month ago. Onstage: raising a scrim in front of a homemade "star light" backdrop. Sadly, I don't have pics from the actual show....

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

it wasn't the screw itself. it was one of the little tab things that the screw keeps closed so people can't stick their fingers in and play with the electronics. I'll post pictures of the board and as much of the system as I can get pics of next time I go back, which should be Dec. 5th. I won't...

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

I've been told we'll be getting an entirely new system, which is supposed to be compatible with intelligent fixtures. The board we have now won't cut it. The bulbs will be replaced, and hopefully properly maintained. The entire dimmer rack will be replaced. And because of someone's negligence...

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

my admins have been pressured by patrons, performers, sponsors, etc. to get stuff done. Of course, none of those who have complained are in any positions to directly get stuff done. If that were the case, all this would have been taken care of long ago. The school board is just getting the idea...

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

The system was installed in 1992. That's 17 years ago. And I'm not sure about this, but I believe it was used when they got it, making it even older than the building itself. As for getting administration involved, I'm not the only person concerned with the auditorium. There are others who are...

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

Bloomsburg, you say? I'm actually going to school at Bloomsburg University. That's why it'll be a while till I can get new pics of the high school auditorium.

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

ok, i'll have to get new pics and make a list of "known" equipment next time I go back. I actually have some pics posted on Facebook, Welcome to Facebook | Facebook I know they're not entirely relevant to the topic at hand, but it's something. I'll get more when I can.

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

Three answers: 1. The old equipment is outdated anyway and should have been replaced years ago, but lack of interest on the part of administration led to lack of funding, which resulted in lack of functionality. 2. The old equipment is outdated anyway and should have been replaced years ago. 3...

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

I see what you're saying. Allow me to clarify: the system was bad when I started working with it. I documented everything, acquired a copy of the user manual for the light board and used it to learn how to use it beyond "full up", and I actually took care of the equipment as much as I could. But...

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

Actually, I'm not even directly involved with any of this. I'm nothing more than a former student who knows how the stuff works. My only role in this situation is to research possible options for a new light controller. And to say that I know more about the current system than anyone, and then...

After long last.... new systems at my high school!

So far, there aren't many details available. Here's what I can say for sure: 1. the "justification" for the project is rampant complaints that the facility is inadequate (and by inadequate, I mean absolutely nothing works the way it should). 2. They're looking to redesign the audio system, get...
