ETC Expression

Short answer: No.
Longer answer: You can program your show using the EOL OLE, then Sneakernet the floppy to the LPC, but that's not really what you want, is it?

There is not now, now has there ever been, a way to output (usable) DMX512 from a PC running ETC software. Don't everyone all bring up Emphasis in unison.

OK thanks.

Would it be possible to program the LPC using the RFU? Would it be possible to via Midi have an external fade bank?

Thanks,

Tim

Program via RFU, yes... though it would be rather limited. You can not access patch or setup via the RFU. The express can not do external midi faders.

The express playback unit is really meant just for that. It is made for installs that run the same show 24/7/365. It is intended that you program the show on a real console the transfer the show to the playback unit, throw it into a rack, and never think about it again.

With many limitations, yes.

Playback, yes. Program, no. For one, there's no MIDI note or MSC command for "record," which is kind of a deal-breaker when it comes to programming.

Why is it that you don't want to use the LPC's tiny touchscreen? You can attach an IBM PC/AT QWERTY keyboard to the LPC and use the same commands that EOL uses, if that helps
