New on the forums

New to the forums here, I've occasionally stumbled upon Control Booth in online searches and recently joined to contribute to some questions I saw posted.

My primary area of work (when it comes to live entertainment) is sound, but have also scratched the surface of other areas in the theatre when I worked in some smaller ones that didn't have designated designers for other areas.

Live sound is my main gig, but I've done everything from lighting to broad tech direction, installations and private contracting. I have worked in theatre environment as well as live concert/performance sound. My experience with lighting is mainly conventional theatrical.

I own a wide variety of sound equipment, mostly in cabling, rigging, and outboard gear (around half of which is growing obsolete with the advances in digital systems). I'm also fluent in most Adobe products, StudioOne (Presonus's version of ProTools) and network programming, including managing a few websites I personally host.

My day job has kept me away from theatre/live sound for a few years now, however after I relocate in a few months, I hope to get back more seriously into sound/theatre work, hoping to find a decent theatre venue in the area in need of a sound designer or set of hands to work up the ladder again, keeping in mind I will likely be very busy for a few months after I relocate.

Glad to be here on the boards, and excited to contribute and share thoughts from experience over the years.
