How to help fund a State Thespian Troupe

Hello control booth members, i have a question for you guys. Me and my troupe want to fund raise money to help some local high school/middle schools start their own troupes and we where wondering what the process of that is?
If you take the time to answer this, thank you for spending your time helping me, my troupe and hopefully some new troupes.

Honestly, Step one is ask for money. From parents, businesses, the school, anyone! First off, parents hate fundraisers. If they are financially capable of just donating $50 to avoid fundraising, they will. Second, Businesses can write of donations to schools. Put their name in your program or on the back of your drama shirts and your good. Third, the school. Do you have a booster club? or can you start a drama club to get funded? Can you do it as part of an acting class?

Alternatively, write your own script and use a minimal set for the first year. Put together performances and charge admission.

These are of course very general ideas that may or may not apply, but in general I have found that if you ask the right people for money, they will give it to you. write up a general letter and have a teacher or adult adviser email it out to any / all local businesses. Especially local realtors. They love getting their name out as much as possible.

Thank you TheaterEd and Footer those both will help us. Thanks again for your time.

Depending on the State you live in, Your State Thespian Officers should be able to help you. Minnesota for example has officers specifically for new troupe development.
