This may have been posted before but my search didn't turn up anything. Lots of photos of old lighting boards also.

FYI John, is you get a chance to tour the Scottish Rite temple in Oklahoma City you should. They have a GORGEOUS old resistor plate board that takes up most of the SR wing in the main theatre. Beautiful shiny.

I did a quick search and found the Scottish Rite temples in McAlister and the one in Guthrie, but so far nothing about one in OKC.

The Scottish Rite in Hamilton, Ontario has an ancient counterweight system on 4" centers with the narrowest / tallest counter-weights I've ever seen. They also have floor pockets using ungrounded paddle and 1/2 paddle plugs still 'grandfathered' into approved for use to this present day. Jokingly, I suspect their electrical inspector must be a Mason.
Toodleoo!
Ron Hebbard.

ONE of the temples in Portland, across the street from where i USED to work... Has a fully custom fly system. the Arbors are all very thin also and make of oak! yes all wood! there is no "locking rail" because everything is perfectly weighted. Since the scenery never really changes for the degrees there was no need to ever re-weight, I guess.
There used to be a very nice old resistance board in the that theatre also, but it's long been replaced.
@JohnD I'll go looking and find the address. My dad is a 33° and used to drag us on tours everywhere. the Stained glass windows in the building in OKC are also a marvel.

Nope! John, you are right, it's the one in Guthrie.
It's a BEAUTIFUL building.

... I once worked in an auditorium which had these and they were awful, you slide aluminum on aluminum a lot and they bind up.
Yeah, I hated those! Can't tell you the number of times I've cut myself. OTOH, I never had a rondel fall out of that type. Can't say the same for the half-hinged type of holder. Luckily the x-ray pipe was at low trim at the time.

Hey @Van, I was googling for something else and ran across this page re: Scottish Rite Temple.

Incredible! Thanks for sharing. I love those slide projectors! and, yes, the costumes are always amazing.
Not everyone realizes that Scottish Rite and other Masonic institutions really kept the Scenic arts flourishing in this country when not a lot of other venues did.

Yes, I ran into a similar dilema when the Portland Scottish Rite building, which was directly across the street from my former place of employment, went on the market for $8Mil.
I asked what they were going to do with the drop inventory and they said, "Well we have pictures of them all in this binder..." Then "Leverage" took up residence and through the rental of various rooms for use as "stock" for the series I think the Valley overcame the financial crisis's that were forcing them to sell in the first place.
