My Grandpa (the original DVS, I am actually DVSIII) passed into the presence of the Lord sometime last night. The Good News of the Gospel reminds us that now his memory is back and he's smiling again. Someday I'll see him again under the 7th tree back on the right side, facing the Throne of the Lord, and Grandpa be there, smiling and holding his chess set, waiting for a rematch with his grandson.

Condolences. It is never an easy transition for those who remain in this mortal coil.

My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your grandfather. At times like these it can be difficult to know what to say to someone who is going through one of life's more painful realities, but rest assured that your friends here on Control booth are thinking of you, and will continue to support you as we you navigate these tempestuous waters.

Dave
It sounds like you had a special relationship with your grandfather. Sorry for your loss.

It is always remarkable to me that in their busy lives, they always find time to do good things for their community.

Dave, you should change your screen name (if they allow that !) to "DvsDaveIII" as a reminder.

Believe it or not, I've actually discussed my nickname with both my father and Grandpa, many years ago. Neither of them ever realized their initials could be enunciated as DeViouS. They both had other nicknames growing up and as adults. So, I see dvsDave already as a tribute to them, in that my nickname encompasses my heritage.

My Grandfather was an amazing and inspiring man, and I miss him all the time since he passed. People can make a huge impact on our lives, so I think as long as that impact continues to make you better or stronger they live on in you.
Sorry to hear of your loss Dave.
