Conventional Fixtures Correct Lamp for Colortran Mini Ellipse

Hello all -

I need to relamp some mini ellipses. According to the data sheet, I have a couple of different options. I assumed I'd want the 500W (120) lamp, but when I started to google, there are what I can only call "tall" and short "lamps" that otherwise appear to be the same.

Interestingly enough, the fixtures with working lamps appear to be a combination of "tall" and "short" lamps. Which should I be using?

An EVR is an EVR. The photos on the websites are approximate representations. Some page designer just grabbed whatever photo was close in appearance because they don't take pictures of every item they sell. Just order an EVR and don't worry about it.

Are you suggesting your fixtures perform equally well, optically, with both lamp types?
Can you read ANSI designations on both lamps you have in use?
It would be HIGHLY UNUSUAL / impossible for two lamps with appreciably different LCL's to perform equally in identical fixtures. Are you sure your fixtures are all the same and meant to operate with the same lamps?
If you swap lamps between fixtures do they continue to perform equally well?
I must be missing something here as I'm finding this extremely odd.
I know EGJ's used to be available in two styles; one with a long slender envelope atop a very short base while the other had a shorter envelope atop a taller porcelain base but both versions of the EGJ's shared a common LCL. Electro-Controls Parallipspheres (Sp?) would only accommodate the EGJ's with the tall slim envelopes as the other versions would not pass through the small diameter opening in the rear of their silvered glass reflectors.
Toodleoo!

+1 EVR
I have a half dozen of these luminaries, all with EVRs. Not a bad little little ERS - bit of a hot spot in the middle though.
