Jan & Dean got nothing on me . . .
Yesterday afternoon, my CB "In box" alerted me to an entry from New Member @ Linda K who has zero posts yet somehow found her way to my "In box". After checking with @dvsDave , I replied to @ Linda K's PM suggesting she post in the Lighting and Electrics sub forum where she'd garner more attention and adding, if she couldn't find her way there in 24 hours, I'd post on her behalf and cut 'n paste her PM.
As I've seen or heard nothing further from new member @Linda K here's the PM she sent me:

Does anyone know who can repair a NSI 9800 Dimmer? We are in So Cal
The lights went out, electrical burn smell from unit

(As I'm in Canada ~ 40 miles from Toronto) I'm not at all familiar with NSI repair facilities in southern California neither do I think it affordable to courier her dimmers to Toronto nor to fly any of my friendly techs to Anaheim.
At least it's not a full height CD80 rack @Linda K 'd be looking at schlepping around and then there'd be Donald's wall at the border to contend with. O.K. Friendly Americans, I'll steer @Linda K back to you.

You must be a very popular person to get a direct message like that. High Five ;)

@Amiers Well it definitely caught me by surprise and @dvsDave too when I mentioned it to him. "High Five" back at you. Here's hoping someone closer to Anaheim can help @Linda K

She lists her venue as the Phoenix Club- a well known hall. There's a ton of places around here to help her. Why she's gone this route, I have no idea.

I'm not sure you tagged @Linda K enough in that posting, Ron...
@Jay Ashworth Sometimes they don't always work for me. My logic is if I do it a few extra times, my odds are better. I'm still amazed at Linda materialized in my in box rather than posting.

Everyone knows Canadians are more approachable and Jovial in general.

@Van I want to hear you convince 'The Donald' of that one. I still think 'The Donald' should have gone with Jerry Springer as his running mate. Can you just imagine? Oooh! I'd NEVER get away with posting this on ProSound. Doug and Mac'd be all over me and justifiably so.

Maybe the "Ontario" in your location made her think of the city of Ontario about 45 minutes down the road from where she is.

Everyone knows Springer was mayor, how did you not know that?
@Amiers I'd like to claim I'd never watched Mr. Springer but that wouldn't be true. Perhaps it was watching Mr. Springer that caused my blindness, kind of like whomever it was in the bible that looked at something / somebody and turned into a pillar of salt.

Years ago, Jerry Springer did a serious political talk show on radio. He had liberal leanings and was smart, reasonable and engaging. Not at all like the persona he used on TV.

Isn't that true of most personalities that switch to TV? Dumbing it down for the masses? I remember his radio show.

I wouldn't think it's dumbing it down, more or less making it more engaging. People want action when they watch something.

Joe Roegan podcast vs UFC

Steve Wilkos security vs SW show

Jerry Springer talk vs JS show

I've never understood why talk radio films and airs them talking into a mic when you can just listen to it. The only mix where it has been both that I have seen was The Howard Stern show.

We're a rowdy bunch sometimes.
