Night vision cameras

I have a night vision camera mounted in the catwalks with a feed to the booth and stage. It works, but it's not very good quality. It gets washed out REALLY bad when the lights are on making it worthless and in the dark it's mostly just blobby images. I want an upgrade. Has anyone purchased a good night vision camera recently? Any suggestions on good brands/models? Thanks!

My current camera is a fairly low budget security camera with built in IR emitters. Distance to the stage is about 60 feet.

I've got a similar setup. I just installed backstage displays which support HDMI, but I'm still using the composite signal from the security camera. The other thing I've noticed with these cheaper cameras is that over time the image gets washed out and distorted almost like the sensor itself is going out from being on for so long. I'd like to upgrade that to an HD feed one day as well, but realize that gets more involved than analog.

The other thing with these cheapo composite cameras is that the IR sensor is very touchy. Most of the time it stays in blackout mode, but it's not at all consistent. I'll be interested to see what people suggest.

TrendNet IP-314PI. I put 13 of these in our facility this year, and I'm incredibly happy with them. $125 at Amazon.

Manufactured by HikVision, and I have them working quite well with ZoneMinder.

I *think*, though I have not tested this, that they support IP broadcast, and can hence be monitored by multiple places simultaneously.
