Even better, the Mantrix II had the secret pole on one of its internal DIP switches that would allow you to enable the Mantrix IIS features being test-marketed by preferred users prior to being officially released with the Mantix IIS badge emblazoned on the front panel.
Truly a ground breaking product. [I still salivate while recalling the first Mantix II I lit shows on.] (Maybe I'm just salivating since my alarm is calling me to dinner.)
Toodleoo!
Ron Hebbard.
We have a pair of 12 channel Mantrix 2s that get used regularly. Our dimmers are still AMX. We have an Avo Pearl Expert at FOH that goes through a Fleenor converter. But backstage and the Black box downstairs still have the Mantrix. It's a great little desk. I wouldn't want to run a ballet or rock show off of it. But for lights up/lights down, or shows with only a couple of looks it does the job quite nicely.
I still see Mantrix and Strand 300 consoles on ebay for more money than I would pay for one but if you think you need it bad enough then they are there.
I'll pass on the trade (no offense!). I offered it to ETC - since they're just down the highway a bit. They said they have plenty of them already . . .
